What do you gals do with FH to get away from all the craziness of life, not to mention all the planning. We haven't had a date in awhile, but we need to be saving $$ too....any inexpensive date suggestions?

Make it a blockbuster night! Get some great movies, good snacks and TURN OFF ALL PHONES!

We did that saturday night got 2 movies, made dinner and then popcorn we had a great night...or maybe do a day thing like pumpkin picking or even a picnic this is the perfect weather for it. Do you have any pets, take the dog to a dog park it's time together and still outdoors having fun.

it's so funny to see this post b/c FH and I just emailed and decided we needed a date night with no obligations or distractions or wedding planning!!
we are gonna order greek food and have an uno competition! (yes, nerdy, but still fun!)

I know, its so hard when you're trying to save$$. We alwasy go to happy hour once a week in the city. They have buy one get one free, si it comes out cheap. Other than that, we've been trying to stay in. Usually, we'll cook dinner and make drinkg and then watch a movie.
We also have been spending alot of times having get togethers with friends. All out friends are either saving for a wedding or a house, saving b/c they are having a baby, or broke b/c they just bought a home. So, we usually go to someones house and play board games or watch movies.
SIGH, I miss the days where we would go out for dinner at a nice restaurant and then we'd hang out at a bar or club and not worry about money.

We get takeout and drive down to the beach to eat. It is usually very windy so we end up eating in the car then walking on the boardwalk a little. It will be too cold to do this soon. We love going to the movies and usually have a movie and dinner night when we need to get away from the ringing phones!

Those are all good ideas. The only thing is that we live with his parents. His mom says that if we ever want to have the place to ourselves, to just say so, and they will go out, but I feel bad kicking her out of her own house. I've been debating getting a hotel room for the weekend, just to get away from everything....

we take a ride out east or get all american or subway and go to the boat slip and watch the water and the boats with the windows open and the breeze in our hair!!! we lead a boring life so when we can get out we do....

we do the hotel thing sometimes too--we love the westchester renaissance in white plains! it's not that expensive and the rooms are great! also, it's in a wooded area so we actually feel like we are 'away'

get a hotel through priceline name your own price!! FH and i regularly will just priceline a hotel not too far away for a night, like in CT, out east, philly, upstate....we almost always end up at a 3 or 4 star hotel for $65 for the night!

We also do movie night or game night were we bust out scrabble... we have been driving around looking at nice houses that we hope to own one day or just take a drive out east now that the weather is so nice!!

FH and I played a mean game of monopoly a few weeks ago ... it lasted SEVEN HOURS and I won! Luckily we had *nothing* to do that day ....

FH and I like to lay in bed on a Friday night and watch movies, or catch up on that week's tv shows on DVR. We'll order in from somewhere cheap, like deli sandwiches, or pizza, or our fav. chicken parm!
We make a rule...no computer, no phone, just each other!
