Timing of booking vendors

How far in advance did everyone book there vendors?

we booked all of our vendors about 8 to 9 months before hand.

Mostly because I was stressing and wanted to get all the big vendors done.

Now I can relax a little bit and think about the minor stuff.

ETA: we are only having a 10 month engagement like you!

DJ - 7 months before
Photo - 8 months before
Video - didn't have video
Limos - 6 months before

our engagement was less than 9 months.

We booked our photographer and band about 14 mos in advance because we knew exactly what we wanted.

Limos are next and we're not having a videographer.

Band - 10 months
Photo - 6 months
Video - 6 months
Limos - 6 weeks, (i just did that)

but I am a winter bride, so things dont book up as fast. If i was getting married at a different time of the year I would have done it all sooner

We booked DJ, photographer and videographer 1 year before in November. I got engaged in October and wanted to get those things out of the way before the holidays.

Booked my hall 14 months in advance
DJ 13 months
Photographer 1 yr
Now interviewing florists..wedding in Oct
Pretty much my busy schedule leaves me with enough time to do a major thing a month.

We're getting married in 07, and got engaged Oct 05. EVERYTHING is already booked. As a matter of fact, there were 2 halls that were alerady booked for our date in 07.

more than a year in advance, we have a really popular date and I wanted to have my first choice for all the vendors.
