how far into your reception are you doing the mother/son and father/daughter dances?

That's what we're doing. The DJ kinda looked at me funny and said they are usually towards the end after the cake cutting but I said I didn't want it then. We went to a friend's wedding in April and there were too many interruptions from dancing so they could have like 3 first dances together then the mother and groom and then the bride and father and then they had bag pipers and then they had a mascot from the groom's fire dept. I wished they would've just let us dance, honestly.
