Timing question

Timing question

If my ceremony starts at 2:30 (and the church is only 5 minutes away), what time should I have hair and makeup people come? They'll probably do my BM's hair and makeup too. How long will all that take? And then I guess we have to be done by the time the photographer gets there? When does the photographer show up?
(I know, I should just call and ask but I'm lazy....)

Re: Timing question

My church was at 4:30...My pictures started at 2:30. Our hair appointments started at 9 and our makeup was right after that. If all your girls are with you, depending on how many, you should probably start around 7 or 8.

Wow that's early! I guess by the time they do me and all the bridesmaids, it could be a while.

Thanks!

Re: Timing question

my church was also 5 min away & my mass was at 2pm. we started getting ready at 7am.

remember you, all the BM, mom have to get done, then flowers, photographer & video (if you will be filmed getting ready) all come too.

Re: Timing question

wow! my ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday! The reception is about 35 min. from there at 12:00. I guess my photographer is coming around 7:30 (i do not want pictures of me in my robe, etc. before I am ready) I am doing my own makeup and my sister in law my hair. We are taking pictures at the church and the reception hall. I figure I'll be waking up around 5:30 that morning (about the same time i always do)! We're hoping to be at the reception by 11:15 and spend 45 min to 1 hour on pictures which would bring us just 15 min into coctail hour. As for my FH, I am having his sister in law and brother take candid photos of him in the morning, getting ready, etc. Hope it all goes as planned!!!

Re: Timing question

it took 2 hours 15 minutes with 2 stylists to do 5 ladies (including me) and 1 make up artist to do 3

are you taking all pics with DH before the ceremony? then you need about 1 1/2-2 hours...if not probably an hour just to be safe...

but ask your people...they really have the experience to judge this based on their skills

Re: Timing question

g-eyes... I would think about sarting a bit earlier...

I strted at 7 and left for the ceremony at 9:15...better to have more time and sit around chatting than be rushed and nervous

Re: Timing question

yabbobay - do you mean with the photographer?

Re: Timing question

yabbobay - thanks. That helps! I guess I can factor about 30 minutes per girl for hair. I want to get a hair/makeup person scheduled asap. JN is already booked for my date! (May 1st!)

Re: Timing question

It really depends on how many girls need hair and makeup done......then, how many people you will have doing their hair and makeup. I would check with your hair and makeup people and ask them how long it takes...everyone's different.
