TINY BM sample dresses on normal size women (x-posted in BHB)
i went with one of my BM's to try on dresses yesterday. in the past i have gone w/ MOH, who is tiny and sexy, so the samples all fit her. yesterday, going with a normal size woman, it was impossible to gauge what complements and what doesn't bc all of the samples are in a size 6! do we just pick one and hope for the best??? there was no way to tell what looks good and what doesn't bc the dresses are so small that everything is skin tight (even with the zipper open). the dress we initially liked for the BM has straps, and even the top of the dress was so small that the bust was hiked up on her chest.
anyone have this problem and have suggestions?

yeah...I have bm's that range from a size 4 to a size 16...so we had to generally pick a style dress that everyones knows for a fact is forgiving...no satin...tight around the belly or super open back...the sample did not fit at least 3 of the girls properly so we had to hope that when it is the right size it will look as fab as it did on the size 4 girl...

this whole sample thing gets me upset ... i was just having a conversation about this last night with one of my friends ... i understand that they get sample sizes like 8 or 10 so that small girls can try it on and get clipped and normal size girls can try it on too ... but reality is it doesnt work ... or havent they noticed?!? sometimes when you clip the dress, its hard to tell how the dress is going to fall ... and when its too small its really hard to tell how its going fit! they should really carry AT LEAST two different sample sizes ... someone always ends up buying them anyway and it would make dress shopping alot easier!!!

i'm concerned about the tight around the belly thing too. however, the empire waist dresses seem to make the girls look like tents. the ruching, which i assumed would be forgiving, also just seems to make the dress look bulkier, so the girls haven't liked it.

Yeah.....that's a biggg issue.
I had that problem w/ my dress....although I was able to fit to most sample, some of them were way too small. I tried on gowns that were beautiful and b/c they were too small and it was hard to envision the look, i let them go.
Now...as far as the BM's, I have not gotten there yet and I know its going to be the same issue.....we'll just have to hope for the best.
These sample dresses really made me self conscious about my weight

I have this problem too!!! I'd also like suggestions.
Here's a rundown - I have 8 BM.
Two of them including MOH can't try on the samples. I want my MOH to look hot but its hard to tell when she can't try on dresses
4 of them are of normal size and can wear anything I pick out
2 of them are sooooo tiny that they look lost in a lot of the dresses.
I really want them all to wear the same dress but I don't know what to do

me too! this whole situation has really put a damper on the search for a bridal gown bc every time i go i know i have to prance around in front of all these other brides & friends in a dress that's 4 sizes too small and my a$$ is hanging out of the back with straining clips to keep it closed, etc.
one of the things i love about jasmine gowns is that they come with a special zipper in the back for a whole range of sizes. thank you, jasmine!

I've got a bit of a mess myself:
2 BM are 'normal' and similar in height and weight 1 is normal in weight but 5'9 1 is 5'1 and tiny 1 is larger and is having a baby in Jan.
At least 3 of them COULD be pregnant at the wedding!!!!
