Re: tiny wedding help

when i used to live in manhattan... i once was walking on the upper east side.... i think it was 72nd and 3rd.

i looked up and saw a restaurant on the second floor... and it had a balcony/'rooftop' outdoor room... i hope i explained that well. anyway... when i looked up, there was a small wedding going on there.

it was SO 'NEW YORK' and i fell in love with the idea.

i think it would be a wonderful idea. this gives you the chance to treat each and every guest as a 'treasured jewel' in your celebration.

if i had a smaller family, this would have been the way i would have done it.

go for it

My first choice was Disney. Do you get an employee discount? That would get my vote!

Re: tiny wedding help

well, aren't you coming to new york soon??

maybe you can use that time to look at restaurants. i wish i still lived in the city, i'd go for a walk to get the name of the place.

and if you decide to do this, would you want a place 'in the city' or 'out on the island'??

also... have you thought about the boathouse in central park... it might not be as pricy as you would think. AND IT'S GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! AND ALSO VERY 'NEW YORK'

let me know if you're interested, i can get you some info on central park

I dont know if NYC would be something you want, but I did look into a restaurant before -- Sarabeth in central park south was willing to do a wedding. The place is very pretty and cozy and it fits about 80ppl max. It might be a bit over your budge but I think the quote I got was to rent out the whole restaurant for the night (to include ceremony, cocktail hour and stuff), maybe you can just rent out the back part of the restaurant?

Someone from a previous post mentioned a rooftop like wedding, I know of a restaurant called Serafina's on 79th and Madison that has a top floor, it's a pretty petite place but maybe you can rent out that floor for your event?
