Tip for all brides-to-be...
I'm sure most of you already do this, but PLEASE, PLEASE make sure that you take good notes when talking to vendors and reception halls. You need to document who you talked to, when you talked to them, and the EXACT price they told you.
I spoke with Georgio's a few weeks ago, and he told me that for a Sunday brunch in October, the per person price is $55. He also said that the price never changed, no matter what time of year. So we were excited to have such a low price for such a beautiful place and went back today with our parents to leave a deposit.
So fast forward to today....Georgio Sr. started by asking what date we wanted, what time of day, and how many people. Then he says, 'Okay, so $75 per person for October.' Immediately I began looking through the notes I had taken from our first phone conversation and from the first time my FI and I had gone to see the place. Everything I wrote down stated that it would be $55/person, and I even told him that he himself quoted me that price. He started saying that he made a mistake and that he was going to have it corrected on the website. He says, 'Everyone knows May-October is wedding season. I can't charge only $55.' So it went on and on for a few minutes, and I told him that he told me that the price never changes with the season, and he still wanted to charge us the full price. FINALLY he agreed to the 55 because it was his mistake. So we're officially booked - with the price we wanted - but I definitely learned a good lesson from it all that I wanted to pass on to all of you.
Take good notes and get it in writing!!!
