Just curious if you are suppose to tip her.. She really did an amazing job! one fitting she was not able to make and made sure to call me while i was there to make sure everything was good! Then the dress had to be taken in 4 inches and did an amazing job making it look perfect, and she made it known how long it too her to do, and how awesome it looked....lol im prob going to tip her anyways because of all the hard work she did, i was just curious if that is something that is normally done?
and how much would you say?

Re: Tip the Seamstress
I thought about this too but I don't think I am going to tip my seamstress. This goes back to the age old question of why are you tipping someone for doing their job.
But to answer your question...tip her what you can. If that's $20 then do that if that's $50 then do that.

Re: Tip the Seamstress
I was going to buy mine a nice bottle of wine or champagne. I'm also going to need 4 or 5 fittings because my dress is a potato sack at the moment I'm really getting my money's worth on alterations!

Re: Tip the Seamstress
I tipped mine $40 cash. She was SO SO SO amazing, sweet, and did so much work for my gown. She made my sash, bow, and tails by hand for me. She also took the dress in time after time, especially in the bust where I HAVE NONE lol and got it to fit my lack of boobs! Nothing has EVER fit my little boobies!! So yes I tipped her. You should tip if you feel they deserve it! It was at the Priscilla of Boston Roslyn Salon.
