Do you tip the maitre d' even after the gratuity is included in the over all bill at the reception hall?

i would assume it's up to you and the service that he/she provided
My maitred fee is $500!!!!!! It is included in the contract so its what we have to pay(its not up to us what to pay). I thought that was normal until I came to this sights and now I'm not happy. If they do an OUTSTANDING job then it would be worth it though.
We were told that the gratuity included everything except for the maitre d and the bridal attendant.
