Tipping

does anyone know of a tipping guidleine or website I can use for the day of the wedding.
who to tip and how much (% or fixed amount)

I had this same question... I spoke to my BM about it and besides the 20% that is added into the price per person, usually people tip Maitre Ds about $500 and if you have bridal attendants you don't have to tip them, but sometimes people give them about $50 each.

Not sure about other vendors... are you supposed to tip them as well?

I hate saying this for risk of sounding cheap, but maybe I am just so clueless, but these vendors charge so much as it is, it's hard to believe that they expect tips too! I mean, as a hair or makeup artist, aren't they working for themselves anyway? Is that money you are spending going to a salon they might work for or is it going straight to them?

Maybe I just don't understand since I am new to this... but it's the same thing for the officiant, they aren't working for anybody are they? So the money you are giving them goes straight to their pockets, why need to tip them?

I don't mean to insult vendors but I just don't understand!
