My FH and I had a wonderful engagement photo shoot with our photographer yesterday! We were running around (I freaked out and decided last minute I needed a new shirt), hadn't eaten, then got lost going there. It was only in the last minutes as we were finishing up the shoot, saying thank you and bye that I realized something was missing... we hadn't gotten money out to tip him! I wasn't even sure if this is common practice but I was pretty sure he would appreciate it and we had a great time! Is it awkward to send him a thank you note with a check? Or is it unnecessary to tip him and just let it go.
The E-photo shoot came with the package for the wedding, so we aren't paying for it directly.
Thanks for your help!!

Re: Tipping AFTER the fact??
If you feel like he did an awesome job and you really want to tip him, I would give him the tip someway somehow. If you planned on tipping him out of an obligation but then forgot, I wouldn't worry and would just forget about it. You can always give him more of a tip on your wedding day. Good Luck!

Re: Tipping AFTER the fact??
I had so much fun at my e-pics too but we will put a separate envelope for tip for them the day of the wedding. It will be extra special because we love them so much. I don't think its nessary to tip him now if he is going to take pics at your wedding but if he is not then I say go ahead and do it.

Re: Tipping AFTER the fact??
I've heard that if the e-pics are included in the package or if the photog is the owner of the company you do not need to tip. I've asked a few girls and they said you don't have to tip for the e-pics; but if you really liked the job they did and want to tip them then by all means go ahead.

Re: Tipping AFTER the fact??
If you want to tip them, tip them, it's definitely not too late. But if you're just doing it out of obligation then don't. Occasionally when I've done photography, I've received gratuity after prints or a cd is delivered not the day of the actual event so it isn't unheard of and I'm sure your photog won't turn it down. But as always, gratuities are up to you :)
