I was just reading through my church pamphlets and it says that you should tip the alter boys after the ceremony. I would have never thought of this. My ceremony is only going to be about 30 minutes....I didn't even know I would have alter boys there. So my question is.....What the heck do you tip an alter boy?

I think about $15-$20 each. That's what my brothers got when they were altar boys.

my fiance use to be an alter boy... most people do tip them(they dont get paid from the church)... $10-20 was the average... we plan to give them $20 each(2 of them)

we gave ours $20 each. There were 2 of them.

We are required to give them $10 each payable in cash the week before the ceremony. I am going to give more though.

mlp... that sounds a little shady from the church that you are required to...its just suggested(like when you eat at a restaurant)
