I've read many articles about tipping and I've got a handle on most of the protocol.
I do not understand how to tip the managers running the show for the reception. I haven't met the Maitre'd or know if he/she exists. I better find this out pronto since the wedding is in 5 weeks.
The banquet manager has been the event coordinator working with us. I know I have to tip her but have no idea what to tip. She will be the coordinator of the day. I think she needs a decent tip.
The venue charges 22% gratuity.
What do I tip the banquet manager and maitre'd if we have one?
I read $3-6 per guest. Is this correct?
I was planning on tipping $300 each but $3 per person is $450. Am I being cheap?

Re: Tipping Banquet Manager and others - ???
I just read that 15 - 20% is the norm for the banquet manager and maitre'd.
15-20% of what? I'm already paying 22% gratuity!
The total food bill? That would be thousands of dollars. Why are these things so unclear!
