Tipping Delivery people

Tipping Delivery people

So, we finally bought a washer & dryer this week (am I pathetic that I am SOOO excited about this? )
And they are supposed to be delivered on Saturday. I should tip the delivery guy? How much? I have no idea since I've never had big stuff like this deliverd before. I guess they will also set them up and 'install' them (install being hook up the water lines and plug in the dryer) We are also paying a delivery charge.
Thanks

$10 each??

My mom says that NYers tip way too much. She told me not to tip my guys because I was paying for the service. BUT... I feel like we have too.

Congrats on your new digs & appliances

We've tipped delivery people - usually $20 (per person if they do a great job). I don't know the norm is, but we just do what we can afford/use our judgement.

If they are late, rude, etc., i wouldn't kill myself over it though.

If they do a good job quickly, def. tip them.

We'll be looking for new W/D ourselves, probably sooner than later, what did you get?

Good Luck with your new appliances!

I usually do $10 pp for a delivery of appliances and such.

I just did $25 pp for the guys that installed my bedroom rug though.
