Tipping / gratuity

Tipping / gratuity

I know caterers figure their gratuity into their figure. But what about the other vendors? What is the etiquette on this? Is this paid the day of the event?

Thanks!

Hi,
Gratuities are usually given the day of the event. Really, you're tipping b/c you are satisfied with your vendor's services, so you usually give them the day of.

I mean is it 18% standard? How much should I budget for tipping?

I would say 18-20% is the norm.

Most will tell you about the 18% gratuity.
carlyle also has an executive gratuiy that is above and beyond that.

We paid grauities to the vendors that day in cash.

Then I am cheap!! because there is no way I am tipping the photo/video $700 (which is 18% of what they cost)

what about the dj say he costs like 1500 or $2000? do you really tip him $350 seriously?

Yes, gratuities are paid the day of your wedding and it ranges from 15-20 percent.

For the record, I think any BM who thinks they should get an extra tip on top of the 18% is crazy, they need to work for the extra!!!
