Tipping Photographer?

Tipping Photographer?

Yes another tipping question!!! Girls get your notepads out, and take notes!

My photographer is the owner, and she's not a 'studio'. Would you say that $100 is an ok tip for her and the assistant?
All that money I paid her is going in her pocket, besides her paying the assistant.

Would you say less or more?

Honestly, you are not supposed to tip owners of a business (for the exact reason you posted - they get 100% of what you pay). I think $100 is fine since there's an assistant.

AND I wouldn't not tip at all. Remember that they will have all your photos in their power after the wedding day!

If she is the owner - no need to tip.

Our photg is like yours - not part of a studio - and we aren't tipping her. She pockets all the money we give her.

Hey,
Since we have the same photog, I'd love to know the answer. I feel like there's something about gratuity written into the contract. I could be wrong though. I don't have it in front of me.

That's exactly it! My pics are in her hands after! I mean she should know that she's the owner and shouldn't expect.. but who knows.

Please don't tell me that! Makes me wanna run home and get it! Watch it prob says 15% grat!!!!!!!!!! I would die. And that's just not happening. I know it says that she and the assistant expect a hot meal. Which is fine.

I could be lying (well, not intentionally of course). It seems like gratuity should go only to her assistant, but I never know these days.
