I had scheduled the pick up date for my dress and I started thinking about this... are we supposed to tip our seamstress???

I was also wondering the same thing? Did anyone tip their seamstress? I had three fittings and my bustle was very difficult and time consuming.

I didn't. I paid an arm and a leg for alterations...alot more than I really thought necessary, so definitely no tip from me. Not sure if its customary to tip though...

I don't plan to. Alterations are not cheap and almost the same price as my dress... so no.

I did! My seamstress went above and beyond, adding a one-shoulder strap & applique to my dress the week before my wedding.

I'm not planning too either. Alterations are way too expensive already.

Re: Tipping Seamstress?
I hadn't planned on it but I had my final fitting this morning and now I think I might. My seamstress was the nicest lady, she must be in her 70's and she did things without telling them so they wouldn't charge me. She also went out of her way to add little things like lace to the bra so it wouldn't be so ugly etc. She showed me how to hold my train loop for the first dance by pretending to be my FI & gave me a huge hug before I left too I think Im going to give her a nice card and a gift certificate.

Re: Tipping Seamstress?
i didnt tip...they charge so much already! although we did tip for my sisters (MOH) dress...the seamstress was fitting her and noticed her bra was too big so she took it and stitched it to make it the right size...def didnt need to do that.

I didn't. My seamstress is very expensive and she gets cash everytime I go for fitting.
