should i be tipping these people?? What is/has everyone else done. I can't believe how much money i already took out for my tip envelopes! i dont want to tip extra people if it's not neccessary. what does everyone think?

i'm not sure on this, but i thought the matre'd disperses $ to all of the other people on staff.....i get really confused about the tip stuff though!!

This was a hot topic for FH and I. I wanted to tip out the bathroom attendants in advance so our guests didn't have to.

He said it was a nice thought, but most people anticipate bathroom attendants and tipping them.

You don't have to. The gratuity fee that is charged in your contract covers those people.

im not...we dont have bathroom attendants, and the bartenders will have tip jars out , every wedding i have ever been to we have tipped the valet ourselves........so i am not paying any of these people

I thought that was what my gratuitty charge was.
Plus if the matri'd is getting $3-$5 per head from me or more.. then why would I be giving on top of that,

ALL events that I have gone to with a Valet, I have tipped them. We dont plan on tipping them, as such with a coat check etc...

My little brother does valet for many of our catering halls and he said he never get a seperate tip from the bride and groom. hth

We actually have to pay extra to even have valet service at our RH (it's considered an 'enhancement') so we are def not tipping them on top of that. Like some of the other girls said, I have always tipped the valet myself at other weddings I've been to. Same with bartenders.

I asked that at my RH, and those people are the ones included in the gratuity (in addition to the waiters/waitresses) that we pay. At our RH, only the maitre'ds are not included in the gratuity we pay. I'd call you hall...
