I have no idea what to plan on tipping my vendors and I am trying to work this into my budget. 15% seems like alot. What's the suggested tip for photog, dj, florist, officiant, and your maitre'd?

Re: TIPPING VENDORS
Many halls have suggested 3-5 dollars per head for the matre'd
as for the vendors, being a vendor many times myself this is the normal ettiquite. Either u feed them or you tip them. Both is fantastic but if that's not an option then one of those would suffice.
Keep these in mind though..
photographer - you can't just tip the actual person taking the pics, remember he may come along with an assistant who holds the light the entire time
DJ - you can't tip the dj w/o tipping the Mc and visa versa. Remember if you have intelligent lighting then that might be a 3rd person to tip

Re: TIPPING VENDORS
Florist.. thats tough cuz it's highly unlikely that 2 or even 3 people will be making ur centerpieces and bo-k's.
IMO...I would feed my photogs ....not for nothing but 10 hours filming you and no food..thats just wrong... florists...jus ttip a delivery guy $5$10..maybe more depending on how many drop off locations he has band/dj -$30-50 per person photog....$50-$100 per person...10 hours with you ..think that warrants a tip..unless they are freelance and pocketing the whole fee...if they work for someone...tip them mairte d-$3-5 per guest..ask your hall for that info bridal attendant at hall-$50-100

Re: TIPPING VENDORS
If you are paying 20% gratuity to a catering hall Would't additional tipping be overkill?

the tip is usually included in what you pay for the hall. The only person I would have to tip they told me was the maitre d...
Thanks for the info ladies!

Here are some figures (15% for each vendor is wayyyy too much....!!! Sorry but you already are spending thousands of dollars....!):
Photog and assistant: $50-$75 each DJ/MC- $50-$75 each Florist- they don't get tipped, if you see the delivery guy then tip them about $10 or so. Officiant- $50 - $100 unless it is a clergyman/woman at a church-then they usually tell you to make a donation and suggest amounts for it Maitre D- between $3-$5 pp depending on service... Bridal Attendant- $100 on up depending on service....
HTH and good luck!!!!

Most people feed their vendors here AND tip...not fair to the vendors to be with you all day and then nothing to eat? Most vendors' meals are half price or less at each RH.

Re: TIPPING VENDORS
Why would I have to tip the band/dj, florist or photogs..I have never heard of that. I think they are getting enough money for their services!
