Re: tips
Matr'd tip i heard should be about 3-5 a person.
As for vendors it's different. Sometimes either you feed them or tip them but most of the time not both. If your paying 4000 for photographer though a 300-400 tip should be ok.

Re: tips
well.. the matre'd's tip doesn't come out of the service charge. I THINK that is just for the wait staff and bartenders. The matre'd tip might be for him, the captains, and maybe kitchen staff.

Re: tips
I think it depends on your RH. I know some of the places included everyone in the 18-20%.. but some didn't. Most places include everyone but the maitre'd.

Re: tips
the 18%-20% covers the wait staff only but you still need to tip your maitre d and the bridal attendant

Re: tips
My contract said Maitre D and staff tips are at my discretion. What do you think they mean by staff? Bridal attendant? Or also waiters, waitresses bartenders etc. Are you all tipping your other staff?

Most likely the maitre'd, and bridal attendant, but some people also tip the bartenders, coat room attendant, and valet. I probably will just be tipping the maitre'd and bridal attendant and hope my 20% gratiutiy gets passed on to the others besides the wait staff.

You most certainly do NOT have to tip your photographer $400. I think I tipped mine $100, actually maybe even $75, I don't remember exactly.

Re: tips
We started a seperate savings account just for tips. We want to be sure we have enough to tip everyone. We are giving our mater'd $600.00 b/c he has a staff to share it with. Photo & Video $100.00 each ( we are tipping them early in the day so they really put an extra effort in) Limo drivers $50.00 ea. they get a tip that is worked into the contract. Dj & MC $100.00 ea. Flowers, $20.00 for the delivery Person. We figure about $2000.00 should cover all.
