I'm actually having a hard time figuring that out myself. I spoke to my catering hall and they told me to average $5 each person at the wedding. I'm having 325 people so i'm sorry but I'm not giving the hall over $1,500. All of my vendors have been great telling me to do what I feel I would like to do. Don't know what to do either.

Re: TIPS...???
Here's what we did:
Maitre D: between $3-5 per guest you have. I believe we gave $350 for 115 guests Bridal Attendant: $125 Photographers: $300 (we had two and they really went above and beyond ... you could give $100 each) Photog Assitant: $50 MC: $100 DJ: $75 Percussionist / Steel Drummer for CH: $75 Officiant: $50 Dove Release Guy: $20 Videographer: $100 Hair: $10 per person whose hair she did Makeup: $10 per person whose hair she did
we didn't have limos but you'd need those too
I think that's it
ETA: we didn't tip the flower delivery person ... to be honest, we never even saw him / her .... they got there (and left) before us
ETA again because i forgot hair & makeup

$5 is the very high average! It's usually $3-$5. If you gave the maitre'd $1k, that's more than enough. We tipped them about that but we made Jose work for it. lol! He was excellent.
Otherwise...
-Hair- We gave $50, she did 3 girls. -Make-up- $30- she did my make-up and my sister's. -Altar Servers (if applicable) or Officiant- We tipped the altar server $20. The priest doesn't get a tip. -Limo- We tipped $40 to the limo and $20 to the car that picked us up at the end of the night. -DJ/MC- $50 each -Photographer- $100 each -Florist- $10- We gave a small tip when they delivered the flowers.
ETA: Bridal attendants- $50 each.

Re: TIPS...???
Florist Delivery Person (who also decorated the outside of my parents house) - $0 (he was the owner & wouldn't take the tip)
Hair - $0 (she is a family friend & we went to her house that morning, but she recently had a baby so we made up a gift bag of some cute clothes)
Makeup - $30 (she is also a family friend, she came to my parents house that morning & did an outstanding job)
Limo Drivers - $0 (it was included) the company threw in an extra car for after the reception at no charge but we had to tip the driver $50.
2 Altar Servers - $10 each
Photographer/Videographer - $25 each (we had 4 people in total) & we also served them dinner (they also owned their own company)
Band - $37.50 each. (initally we put $25 each in the envelope but DH was so happy that he gave them extra)
RH Staff - (coat check, wait staff, valet parking, bridal attendant, etc.) - we had a 20% service chagre on our contract which wass taxed. when we went for our food tasting we asked the owner of the hall & she said that is the tip for everyone at the hall.
Matri D - our RH contract included tip

Re: TIPS...???
THANK YOU LADIES!!! This helps ALOT!!
I guess depending on how good the maitre 'd is, will depend on 3-5 dollars pp. 5 dollars seems like a lot though lol. I have to double check my contract to make sure they did not include it, but i am pretty sure that is seperate. The Gratuity that is included is for eveyone else I think...
Thank you Again!!!

OMG me too. I think we're going to start putting aside like 20 bucks each into a jar once/week until the day of so it's a little less painful. We've been saving change for a year lol! That's not gonna cover half of what we need but every little bit helps!

Re: TIPS...???
Giorgio's includes a Maitre'D fee in their overall price.... does this mean I don't have to tip the Maitre D???

Re: TIPS...???
Ha, We are doing the same, we have a change jar! $1,200 in tips. Like you don't spend enough money on the hall and tax and gratuity, then you have to tip on top of it! LoL

Re: TIPS...???
Makes my head spin too, lol. Just remember to do the envelopes and have them ready a day before so you just have to hand them out. So much work for your own wedding day right lolol.
