As I am cleaning my house this came to mind. Maybe would could share some tips with the girls that are still living at home. For instance:
Spend good money on your area rugs. We bought cheapos from home depot and the ends are all frayed and get ****** up by the vaccuum and its very annoying...
thats all i have for now....

Re: Tips for brides to be living at home...
Hmm my tips:
- Go to Ikea for things like bookshelves, they have so many mix-and-match things... DO NOT buy drinking glasses there, I broke at least one per dish washing when we first moved into our old apartment.
- Don't buy too much food in one shot if you're not gonna end up eating it soon, especially stuff that goes bad quickly like meat - if you plan your meals for a few days and only buy that amount of perishable stuff you won't waste as much money as we did buying random things. It sounds like common sense but you have to stick to your plan of eating the stuff!
- Buy those long under-bed storage bins that are flatter than regular bins for sweaters and out of season stuff if you can't fit them in drawers/closets, they have been a lifesaver for us.
- Keep all the keys in one spot on a regular basis - I can't tell you how many days I am running out the door and can't find the car key because FH left it in some random jacket pocket somewhere and I can't find it, and I've done this so many times to him too.
I'm sure theres like 100 other useful things I can't think of right now but these just popped into my head.
ETA: When I first moved in I bought a bunch of furniture from Bob's, the living room set was not expensive as far as couches/loveseats go, it's soo comfortable and durable. We ordered it in a stock color so that it came sooner. I definitely recommend them for living room stuff as a starting-out set. (There's one on Rte 110 and a few in different locations).

Re: Tips for brides to be living at home...
I have a few suggestions:
-If you put tiles in your bathroom or kitchen, buy some extra. If they crack or break you can just replace a few instead of the whole thing.
-Measure your doors before you buy new furniture. I bought a couch and had to return it bc it wouldn't fit through the door. It was annoying bc I spent so much time shopping and then waiting for it to be delivered only to have to return it.
-If you have a bathroom in your basement, periodically have a plumber come in to check for roots so you avoid a flood. (i just had to call a plumber tonight --we caught it just in time).
-Always keep a dehumidifier running in the basement during humid months to avoid mold. ***These are all problems that i have encountered. HTH

don't buy a cheap ironing board. We got one of those $10 ones at Walmart and now the thing won't close...we're too lazy to get another one, so its just sitting in our bedroom allllll the time
buy the nice TV that FH wants. I didn't want to get a new TV, but I'm so glad we did! I think I spend more time in front of this thing than he does!
Make sure you have a nice blanket for the couch for when you get cold!
Have fun living with FH - its wonderful!

make sure you schedule some time for yourself each week. it can be for only 10 minutes, but when i find time that the apt is quiet and its just me I can breathe again.
dont try to move everything in at once (if you can avoid it) esp if you are both moving in from 2 different locations into one location. You will end up with boxes everywhere and no room to put anything away.
Hire someone to redesign your closets (assuming you're not renting). We had all of our closets renovated and now we have so much more room.
