'Tired From What?'

'Tired From What?'

I almost COMPLETELY LOST IT last night.

I was up Sunday night until 2:30am wrestling with my printer to print out my shower thank you envelopes. Went to work all day yesterday. On my lunch break, went to the bank and the post office to take care of bills (and something for my FH). Went to the gym after work. Got home. Took a shower. My FH bbq'd hamburgers, which I was SO happy about because I REALLY didn't feel like cooking. We sat down and watched a little t.v. together, which was nice because we had a fight over the weekend, so this was nice 'us' time. I printed a few more envelopes out. Then loaded the dishwasher. Sat down. It was now 10pm. My FH asked if I could make him an omelette. We just at hamburgers two hours ago! He goes to work at midnight, so he wanted it before he left for work. I started to feel guilty that I wasn't being 'wifey' enough in feeding him before he went to work an overnight, so I started to get up to do it, but I said while getting up, 'I'm SO tired!'. He's like, 'Tired from what??'. As if to say, 'What do YOU do all day?'. I sat back down and started crying. He just DOESN'T get it.

Sarah, NO man gets why women are tired. generally, they have longer work hours/days, they do the HEAVY/hard stuff [take the trash out...move the couch...] so they don't see why moving pile A to the washer and folding pile B tires us out. Mine STILL doesn't understand that I NEVER actually rest b/c I'm in constant MOM mode and therefore ALWAYS mentally concerned with my daughter no matter what. They simply DON'T get it. So in all seriousness this time, in Joe's defense, MEN REALLY DON'T GET IT.

Just take it easy, you are trying to do too many things at a same time and cannot be perfect in everything. You need to take some time for yourself and do some things you like. After that try talking to him and explain to him how you fell and what you did all day, maybe he will understand. It is important not to put too many things on your back, just try and slow down and definitely take good care of yourself.

Sometimes mental exhaustion can harm you more than physical exhaustion. Men will never understand- EVER. Dont even stress over trying to make him understand because he wont. Take a deep breath, relax and repeat. All the pre wedding stress I had went away the morning of my wedding, and BELIEVE me, it will do the same for you. Hang in there. Things will get better (& easier)

Please, Don't be mad....But You need to take a deep Breath. You need to start giving some of your jobs away! Why are you printing out your own shower invites? That's your Bridesmaid Job. You can't keep this stress up for too long....you Will be sick at your wedding.

Please, take this a person being concerned.

Re: 'Tired From What?'

again sarah, i feel your pain. FH was off from work friday. i worked all day. when i got home, he went out to a hockey game with his friends. while he was gone i did all my DIY projects and baked a cake. when FH comes home, i was watched tv... and he's like 'what'd ya do, watch tv all nite?' ISN'T THAT A PIECE OF THE CAKE I JUST BAKED YOU'RE EATING??? oh, and i guess he didn't see all the projects on the table either. i just looked at him, asked if he saw them, he says yes. i was like 'did you think magic sprung them onto our kitchen table? even if you don't think they're nice, just say so!!!'
i could go on and on and on with stories like these, not just wedding related either. FH and i work the same job (just opposite hours) and make the same money. he gets 3 days off every other week, while i only ever get 2. yet magically somehow, he always has clean clothes, ironed uniforms, a full fridge, a clean house, etc without EVER lifting a pinky. do they think a fairy does this while we just sit on our butts all day? geez!!! i'm so sorry you're having a rough time lately, sweetie. i wish i had advice on this one, but i don't. i often break down in tears over this. it's never fun feeling unappreciated. and the stress of the wedding isn't helping. you're almost there, sweetie. just stay strong

yup I hear ya! I go to work, then school then home to do homework or godforbid wedding stuff and if I dare say I'm tired I get crap because he works in Jericho and has to drive 45 mins to get there. He counts the driving time as work time! I tell him 'then I work from 7:30am-10pm because I work then drive to school then go to school then drive home' he says that doesnt count because he did it once too. BUT when he did it I was home making him dinner and writing his notes for him! AND if there is a night i go to his house after school I can be sure to meet with him sleeping, because he works all day. HE IS A LOAN UNDERWRITER, NOT A CONSTUCTION WORKER!!! He acts as if he is doing manual labor and not just pushing a pen around, typing and getting the METS SCORES!!!!! AHHHHH!!! SO yeah, I understand where you are coming from!

I know exactly what you mean, they do not get it at all. They do not understand us, they think things like the dishes, laundry, cooking, cleaning, planning a wedding is not hard work, its easy work so they dismiss the whole thing. You are very stress out Sarah and need to relax, your FM doesnt see what you are doing, he is dumb like mine and can not see all the things we are doing.

i TOTALLY understand!!! my DH is the same way... he just doesn't see all the LITTLE things that have to get done to keep the house from becomnig a disaster area.
its even worse for him because his mom never worked the whole time he was growing up, so she never complained about this kind of stuff becasue that was her job... she had ALL day to do this kind of stuff. so he really doesn't get it when i complain about the house stuff, i guess becasue his mom never did, he doesnt' expect me to
just keep talking to him and try to get him to see everythign that you do...

sorry... I meant shower thank you envelopes!

Thank you everyone. I just think that EVERY straw is the last straw lately. ANYTHING can set me off. And today was SO hectic at work, I didn't even have a moment to go to lunch! I'm STARVING! And I got my little friend today. So that explains the constant crying!

Why were you printing shower thank you envelopes? If the printer is giving you problems, then just hand write the damn things!!

Why don't you explain to your FH why you are so tired - he can't understand if he has no idea what is going on. I always tell DH EXACTLY what is bothering me. Guys can't read between the lines - you need to explain every little detail to them.
