I would have told him to shove it long ago. It isn't worth it if they aren't compensating you and if you and FH fight about it. I'm sure you can find another studio in order to teach if you really want to.
BTW where did you win the tickets from? I've been trying like some maniac.

Honestly, I think you can find a job somewhere else. Especially if you have that much experience, I'm sure there are plenty of schools looking for an Irish Dance instructor. If this isn't your full-time job, then you really don't need to put up with this nonsense (and even if it was you don't, but that's a whole other story). Quite frankly, I'd look for something else. If you're not getting paid that much, it won't matter if you lose that salary for a while, and it will be worth it to be treated well...and go see New Moon!

uhm PLEASE send him the 2nd email. People see how you dont fight back and stand up for yourself. Theyw ill continue treating you like shyt. I was in a similar situation. You dont need them, they need you. When will you realize this??? Fk them. They pay you for 1 hour. wow, what does that cover? gas? please. You have sooo many years of experiencce, go somewhere better.
Im sure your students will follow you. and THAT will pizz them off even more.
do NOT miss your movie for this d-bag. i BEG you not to. and its none of your students' business as to WHY you wont be there for the last 15-30 min of the class. PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM KICK YOU AROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would definitely still go to the Sweet 16. You don't want to hurt this girl's feelings and you RSVP'd.

you think so? I'm going to be seated at a table with HIM and the other teachers.. I think it'd be weird if I do quit.
At least call her or the parent and let them know you can't make it and send a nice gift?

Since it's November I wouldn't worry about leaving. It's early enough in the dance year that he a)has enough time to find a replacement teacher b) the students haven't learned a full routine yet.
It's also early enough that you might still be able to find work in another studio.
How do other teachers do it though? Cuz I know for a fact that some teachers who teach there also work other jobs on the weekends and are ok with it. If he's making it a personal thing then leave. Don't be un-professional about it b/c you never know if ur gonna come back down the road if things change?

I just read your other post.
If your looking to eventually open up your own studio that doesn't necessarily mean you have to stay there. If you trained there that should be enough to put on a resume. On top of that you taught for 9 years. It's not like he's gonna help you out opening your own studio.
My suggestion is just get out of the area when you do open a dance school b/c then you'll be in direct competition with him. Float around w/other dance schools. If you really want to build your resume see if you can get into BDC in the city as a teacher.

thanks... please don't mention this to anyone.. I don't want it getting back to him.. as I said, I plan on deleting this thread (think i'll do that now actually lol). but my number is already done- they have a show in 2 weeks. and he's been looking for a replacement for months and hasn't found one.
