It's officially Sunday, which means Alicia will be picking her sons up TOMORROW MORNING from the airport!!! I wanted to start a thread for Alicia to send her some last minute well wishes!!!
So, to Alicia.... I have followed your story from the very beginning, with your decision to adopt, and going through pictures and videos, the interviews and background checks, the waiting and wondering. You find out you're getting your boys, only later on to find out that you are ending your marriage. The highs and lows, ups and downs, and through it all you have been a constant source of strength, determination and inspiration. A new job to support your new family, a new apartment with a bedroom that has probably never had so much thought put into it, a new car. You thank me for the clothes, but really I should thank YOU. You give me hope that there are still great people in the world. People like you make the world a better place. Although we have never met, I can say with 10000% certainty that you are a truly caring, loving person who I am honored to 'know'.
To Biruk and Paulos...welcome to the United States, and to the LIF/LIW's family..we look forward to seeing lots of pictures and hearing lots of stories. But more importantly, welcome to a Mom who fought so hard to get you both and who loves you more than you can ever know.

I agree!! Just started lurking in this board and searched her to read her story...absolutely beautiful and such a giving caring person. Sending her all those gifts for the boys...

Alicia, I've also followed your story for quite some time and I've had my whole family praying for you since Day 1. Your storyt is close to our hearts because I was adopted, and I plan to adopt, so I know first hand what a gift you are giving to these boys. Of course the gift you are giving to them is magnified because you are working against all odds to take these boys out of terrible conditions to bring them into a safe, comfortable, loving home. I know you are scared and anxious, but you must know that you will be a great mother. We can all tell already that the love you've shown for these two boys makes you equal to the best mother in the world. They will know, as we all do, that you are a wonderful mother and as much of a blessing to those boys as you are to them, and to all of us who have the good fortune of 'knowing' you. You've definitely touched all of our hearts, and I'm so so happy that the big day has finally (almost!) arrived. Many prayers for the health and happiness of your new family!

Your story has touched so many hearts here on LIW and on LIF. Your boys are getting an amazing mother, and more I'm sure then they can ever hope for. sweetie, we having been wishing and hoping and praying for you to have this dream come true for so long! you are truly an inspiration to all of us and we are so proud to 'know' you!!! you have made us cry and smile because through all of the hardships that you have endured over this process, you have done just that! you have endured!!! you kept going and going and with joy the whole time! your sons are so lucky to have a mom such as yourself and they will have an inspirational story to tell when they are older!!! bless you and your sons! we can't wait to 'meet' them!!! plus, they are coming home on a special day! my anniversary , so nothing but good luck and happiness will come with them!

OH my gosh..I am just reading this thread for the first time..thank you Stacy for starting it.I cant believe the things you say..you guys are so sweet!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!! You really boost me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am crying reading the wonderful things you say..I cant believe you are describing me...just doesnt seem right. I am really a very selfish person..I went through hell to please myself because I fell for the boys.it really had nothing to do with anything else..had to do with pleasing my own selfishness. But I am thrilled I was so selfish because now those little beauties are here and I can't take my eyes off of them, not even for a second. They are my heart now and now Im learning to NOT be selfish because I want to teach them everything..but getting them here was purely selfish!! But thank you for saying such nice things!!!!!!! And thank you for your prayers and well wishes!!

You are doing what comes naturally to your heart, which is what makes it so wonderful. But you are doing a great thing, the bonus is that it makes you incredibly happy anyway! You're definitely an inspiration, and I hope more people will follow your example. To some people adoption seems like the most natural thing in the workd, but there are many people out there who just can't do it, and especially kids who are frojm another country are boys, not babies and against all odds. It's an amazing feat. I know you're just doing what comes naturaly to you and what you feel is right, and what is great for you, but you're doing a wonderful thing for those boys and for everyone blessed enough to know you or hear your amazing story!

You made sense..one of mys sisters said she could never adopt and she has since changed her way of thinking...I thank God that this was natural for me because these boys feel like they are my children..I wouldn't have chosen any other way ....I dont know how I ever lived without them..and they have only been home afew days..its the wildest thing!!!! Oh well..thanks again for all of the nice things you say!!
