I bought the outfit and the cross. In the greek tradition, the godparents buy the favors too.

I bought the outfit, his cross, his winter coat, his shoes, a keepsake box with his name embroidered on it, an icon, a frame that i put a cute poem inside and the favors for the christening.

The godfather got her jewelery and the outfit was an heirloom so I gave my goddaughter one share of Disney stock, framed, with a name plate that included the date and the phrase 'A Little Piece of the Kingdom'. She gets annual shareholder reports! The family LOVED it!

start a bank account for the baby, or... if its a girl buy a piece of gold jewelry
i went and found the christening outfit(me and my sister used) for my niece (god daughter) got her gold earrings and a collectable

When I christend my niece, and nephew i bought them their crosses. I was told that the godmother buys the outfit, and the godfather buys the cross. But thats the way they do it in my family so good luck.
