I am Christening my nephew in a few weeks. I have offered to buy the outfit for him to wear that day.
What did you buy your godchild for their Christening?
I need ideas! TIA

Re: To all the Godparents - Questions about Gifts
I got my Godson the Outfit, ID Bracelet with his Name on it and the christening date on the back and a ring with the first letter of his name for when he gets older, and an album where his mother can put pictures from his christening in it.
The Godfather had gotten him the cross so I was like 'what can I get' For girls it's easier you can them anything.

That's what I was wondering. I'm not sure what is 'enough' ... this is my MOH's son and I want to spend tons but with the wedding it's a little tough!

Jan05bride...he's a little cutie!
My Godson was my MOH's son too...(I had two MOH) but he was christened a year before my wedding so I was able to spend some money on him.

Re: To all the Godparents - Questions about Gifts
In out family - for our godchildren we buy:
The outfit (whatever the mother wants) The cross or medallion (again family preference) A necklace for the cross or medallion A bracelet
I prefer when the godparents are a couple - it's so much easier but for my FH's goddaughter someone else is the godmother. We're lucky cause she and her boyfriend are awesome so we went shopping together and split everything.

Everyone's godkids are CUTIES!!! For my godson, we the godparents split the traditional items. I bought a little more since I'm his only aunt and the godfather is my brothers BF. I bought the outfit, cross /necklace.. the godfather bought a ID bracelet. We both gave bonds and/or money.
<------- My cutie petootie is in my avatar!! Here is another pic from Easter (i'm a very proud auntie! LOL!!)
My godson just turned 5 last week I got the outfit for him and gave my cousin money for him. His godfather gave him the cross. My husband will be a godfather in May and his is getting his godson the cross and I am sure a bond or $$.

Opened a custodial acct at a brokerage firm and put money in. We now add money for every holiday and b-day since he is too little to enjoy presents. I can't wait to give it to him when he is older!
