What are some loose ends that needed to be tied up before your wedding that you didn't anticipate or didn't realize would require so much time?

I honestly don't think I had any. As long as you're organized with lists and timelines of when things need to be done you won't have any 'surprises' at the end.

The tuxedos. Make sure the GM try on the shirts not just the jackets when they pick the tuxs up. All the GM and DH didn't try them on and I was left to deal with it the night before.

I absolutely second this. Make sure ALL the GMs, dads, etc TRY ON the entire tux BEFORE leaving the store at pick-up. This includes pants b/c they may be hemmed too short/long, which happened to us. Also the shirts to ensure they fit and the color/fit is right.

not wedding related, but make sure all your bills are paid before you leave for your honeymoon, such as rent, phone bill, electricity....just so you don't worry that you forgot to pay something while you were away...

The placecards took longer than I expected. I got ivory placecards with pearlized border from AC Moore and did them on the computer. That part went smoothly. It was breaking apart the individual cards from the sheets, then putting them in order that took forever! Also, I waited until the last minute to wrap the bp gifts - big mistake lol! Don't do this! I would have eliminated a lot of last minute stress if I had taken care of this ahead of time.

I would have never thought to tell FH to do this. THANK YOU!!!! Ladies all such wonderful helpful tips, please keep them coming.
