Ask to know the date and time, that way you are prepared. I vote for knowing NOTHING else. They will all know that if it's a secret from you, they can't bother you with any BS going on with the planning.

Re: To be surprise or not be surprised???
well, my family really wanted to throw me a surprise shower. i HATE surprises. so, the way i found out the date was by telling my fmaily i have a lot of plans for the month of june & july already made. And i told them how FH is really bad at keeping a calendar and constantly double books himself and us with plans (which is the truth so FH told them that himself). So i then gave them the list of available dates i was free (which was literally 2 days in June and told them I didnt want it to be in May bc i wanted my cousins to be there and they are in college). i casually spoke with one of my aunts and found out she had plans one of the two weekends so now i know when my shower is

Mine was suppose to be a surprise, but an idiot gave it away. I am so bad at acting, but I have to act surprised when I walk in.

Re: To be surprise or not be surprised???
i wanted to know when it was but my mother was adamant that it be a surprise! however, even though the shower said surpise bridal shower, several people who will be coming to shower let is slip so even if i hadn't know, i would have found out before hand anyway. i haven't told my mom yet so i will have to act surprised when i walk in

Re: To be surprise or not be surprised???
my mom wanted a surprise so i went along. I figured out around when it was but I was surprised and it was very fun!!! I also don't care for surprises but I think it's adds to the overjoy of having everyone come out to give your gifts. Makes it much more exciting!

Re: To be surprise or not be surprised???
I wanted mine to be a surprise - but I figured it out - kinda hard since my sister is coming in from CA only twice...next month for my gma's 100th bday party/my probable shower and for my wedding in september - equal that with my registry stalking - and voile - shower!

Mine will be a surprise. My mom is extremely good at hiding secrets and I'm gullible so I'd never know. I've asked but her lips are sealed!!
