I am the same way! I had a big hand in planning the shower as well! I went with my mom to pick out the menu and helped design the invitations.
Yes, I'm a control freak! I also wanted to be able to pick out a special dress! I don't like surprises.
My mom did things at the shower that were a 'surprise' - some simple games (I hate games) and the decorations. Also, she and my whole bridal party baked and decorated 'bride' cookies that looked like me as part of the favor!!!!

Mine was a surprise! My moms biggest thing about my shower was she wanted me to be surprised. I definitely was! Everyone was in on the surprise!

I'm the same way, all I told my mom was tell me the date, time and place, everything else (like theme, games, ect) to be a surprise, so it's half and half lol

I wanted mine to be a surprise - but I figured it out - kinda hard since my sister is coming in from CA only twice...next month for my gma's 100th bday party/my probable shower and for my wedding in september - equal that with my registry stalking - and voile - shower!
