I'm debating on getting a cake serving set. Of course the one I like is 100 bucks after personalization. Also my MOH got me a guestbook as an engagement gift. I'm not a big fan of it and wanted to do a photo guest book. Ideas????

Re: To cake server or not to cake server
*crashing*
I'm using the cake server from my FH's grandparents silver set and the toasting flutes from my grandparents' Waterford crystal set... I didn't want to spend the money on this because I felt no one would notice and I didn't like the flutes we got as gifts so this is a little sentimental for us.
HTH!

Re: To cake server or not to cake server
Im using a server & flutes because they were gifts, if not I would not have bothered. I guess if you have the extra $ then go for it but otherwise it isnt a priority for me.

It's a nice momento to have but I agree pricey :( Maybe you can register for it and someone can get it for you for your shower?

I got my serving set for like $13 at Wal-Mart ... I didn't want to overspend on this either.

i got mine off my registry at my shower, but i had already decided that if we didn't get them, we'd just use the hall's.

Re: To cake server or not to cake server
I got my cake server & flutes as gifts (we registered for them, but if we didn't get them, we weren't going to buy them, our selves). We are also not doing a guest book. I'll be taking the RSVP cards & maybe the wedding cards & scrap booking those with pictures from the wedding eventually.

Re: To cake server or not to cake server
We registered for a cake serving set and crystal toasting flutes. we figured we'd go with something nice but with no personalization so that we can use them for holidays and special occasions in the future

Re: To cake server or not to cake server
I didn't do a guestbook. I figured I'd ahve everyone's cards. Although a lot of peopel sent registry gifts and did not give cards
Honestly on the day of I didn't really notice/care what set I was using and it's barely in the photos. Mine isn't personalized, but it matches my china so I'm sure I'll display it and use it on special occasions, but if it doesn't mean that much to you, I'd say don't bother. It comes out for 2 seconds

We saved the money and used the one at the RH.
And we had bottles of wine as our guest book. I cant wait to drink our first bottle on our 1st anniversary!!
