To camera or not to camera?

To camera or not to camera?

OK ladies... how many of you are doing cameras on tables???
Of those who did cameras... what were your thoughts on them? Were they worth it or not worth it??

Re: To camera or not to camera?

I have talked to people who have done it and I never hear about how great they came out. I've heard that people just take pictures to waste the film. I would say if you want random shots of people having a good time, see how much your DJ charges for zap shots. A friend did it at her wedding and I feel those are some the best shots!

I wouldn't do it. I have heard so many stories about the poor quality of the pictures and the guests that took home the cameras and never gave the pictures to the couple. In otherwords this is why you hire a good photographer, so that you don't have to chance it! Save the money from the cameras and put it towards a nice favor!

Everyone that did it that I know said it was a huge waste of money and not to do it.

what I'm doing i think is setting up a special shutterfly account, and then I'm going to print on postcards for people to please download their digital pictures and share them with us for our albums :o) Then, you don't have to worry about those stupid little cameras! And developing the film, etc.

I am putting out CDs for the guests to take and put their pics on for me - they dont 'have' to do it - but for those who do, it will be worth it. I dont like the quality of throw away cameras - JMHO

We had cameras out at our E party and barely anybody used them except for my mom's table and my drunk work friends...LOL

My FMIL already purchased so we will have them on our tables - I think they were only 1.50 each and they have pretty wrapping on them so I guess we will see what happens

Re: To camera or not to camera?

A lot of times I find people would rather take their own pics on their digital camera, rather than worrying about the communal camera on the table. Then you wind up having to ask people to use the disposables.

I'd just rely on your photographer and friends to take the pics.

Im not doing it, because I can see people just wasting film and its not cheap to get those cameras developed. I cant have that as an extra expense lol

I am DEFINATELY going to do this! Where are you putting the cards? on the table by each person's seat? Are you doing them one per person or per couple??

Re: To camera or not to camera?

Most ppl have their own digital cameras these days. We asked everyone to submit their photos to our website so we can collect them after the wedding. We've had quite a few people send them so far. I think you can probably save that money for something else more useful.

I am still up in the air on this one....

Just as an FYI most sites I have come across includes the little sign with instructions with each camera.

I'm not putting cameras, but I am putting the little cards with our Flickr info so the guests can upload any pics they do take on their own.
