usually your church will provide organ music with your 'donation' but if you bring in an outside group to do it, you need to get permission and sign a waiver AND still have to pay for use of the organist...If you just use what ther church gives you it will definately be money saved...

i think it is a very nice touch, but on the list of things of 'Needed' and 'Wanted', this def goes under 'Want'. I think better of to lay it off until a few months till the wedding, just to see if it can be still incorporated.
did u check w/ur DJ if he's offering something for this? maybe it wont be as much ad $800?

I'm having something but i might be going through someone who i went to HS with who plays every instrument in a orchestera who also plays with a string quartet.

But i def want one.

Start using ur friends as resources. Everyone knows someone who was/is an amazing musician and they typically know other musicians.

I'd also check out local high schools and colleges and use students. They are young but many times they are amazing and will work for 1/2 the price. Esp. if you can get in with their teachers to give them extra credit or something if they do this for you.

Does your church provide anyone? My church gives us an organist and a vocalist (for $200 in addition to the other ridiculous fees). I never really thought about anything in addition to that. I think it would be very pretty and special, but it seems a bit pricey. If that is something you want to splurge on then I think you should do it!

I didn't even think about this.. I just assumed that it was included... I will call church to ask now.

well im pretty sure (and will def know end of the month) that it is 200 extra for the organ and then 200 extra for the singer....so thats 400 right there...so for an xtra 3 00-400 then i get what i really want...

and its a def want and not a need...

i just do not love (no offense to anyone) organ music...

but im putting an email into the band before we sign the contract bec maybe they can add that in somehwere...

thanks for your input everyone!!

Re: To do ceremony music or not?! HELP!

I am having my ceremony at the RH and hoping for an outside ceremony (weather permitting), so I decided that I would love to have a String Quartet.

So, we booked the Vintage String Quartet (LIW Vendor) for our ceremony & CH. If I was getting married in a church, I probably wouldn't get music outside of the church, most likely CH. For me, I just think its such a nice touch, as guests walk in to have them playing. Also, I love the idea of live music for our ceremony & CH. I love their music, its so beautiful! I can't wait!

did you think about having just one musician? most churches have hook ups they can use to project--

ive played violin in a few weddings and the sound worked fine

and it should be a lot cheaper to have just one
