i just had my engagement party about a month ago .... the shower would be in about 4 months ... wedding in 6.
Should I have a shower?
my mom thinks it's expecting a little too many gifts from people ... in a way, i agree.
if i DO have a shower, it would be semi-small anyway (only about 15-20 women in total would be invited).
opinions please?

I dont see how engagement party and shower have to dow ith each other shower is just for close women to u. I say have it.

If you're going to do a small shower I think it would be ok... if you were going to invite all of the women going to the wedding I think it would be a lot in a short period of time.,

i'm in a similar boat but my e party and wedding are a bit more spread out. i personally do think it's asking for too many gifts and am pleading with my mom NOT to have a shower. she thinks i should so i'm praying she doesn't try to surprise me with one.
that said, PLENTY of people do both an e party and a shower.

yeah, but usually it's more spread out (not 4 or 5 months apart) ....

I think a small shower is fine. Or, if you really want to have a larger one, just put on the invites 'No gifts please.'
