Did anyone opt for no children at the wedding? Are you having children at your wedding? Its a debate @ my house for my wedding... 1/3 of my wedding will be children if allowed... thats $2,000-3000 in total...
I loveeeee kids but ive seen the chaos they cause @ weddings.. but most of my aunts/uncles would be upset if i said no kids but its like saying 'DONT COME' as per my mother.. .
Please advise.. i know ultimately the decision will be me and the FH but its always good to hear another opinion i feel

We opted for no children w/ the exception of the flower girl & ring bearer. We didnt want to have to worry about kids running around all over the place, as well as keeping it as a 'grown-ups night out'

The youngest that are going to be there are my flower girl and 1 ring bearer who are going to be 8 and 6 (the other ring bearer will be 2 and only attending the ceremony). Everyone else attending will be 18 and over.

We are having children of the close family and of close family friends. After that, it is just way too much and we had to cut.

we had kids at ours, but just pretty the imidiate family! my ring bearer and flowergirl and a couple of my cousins kids were there... i say its up to the parents, me personally wouldnt wanna bring my kids cuz i would wanna party and have fun and not have to worry about the kiddies, but i think its great cuz the kids that were at my wedding pretty much had the best time ever! and my wedding is what they are going to think about when they dream of their own!

We are NOT inviting children to the wedding.
However, the only children that will be there are in the bridal party. Two..a flower girl and a ring bearer....it's a touchy subject with the parents...but we're hoping their parents will have them picked up shortly into the reception.

Re: To Have Children or Not To Have Children........
There will be minimal kids at our wedding. My 2 flower girls and 1 RB (Fh neices and nephew). Plus then one FG sister who is like 8 or so. And then the other 2 youngsters are like 16 and 17.... and they are also close family.

NO kids!!! except those in the wedding party and IF the parents even want to have them there. If after the entrance they want to have a babysitter come pick them up, that would be great, if not, just those kids will be in attendance!

We're having kids there. Personally, I love kids. I could see myself having as much fun on the dance floor with kids as with my MOH. Also, a lot of my family wouldn't be able to attend without bringing their children and them being there is very important to me.

Re: To Have Children or Not To Have Children........
You're right it's COMPLETELY up to you guys. We opted for NO KIDS at the wedding. For a couple of reasons. The parents seem to have more fun not having to watch their kids, the kids can't take over the dance floor, when you throw the garter or bouquet kids can't catch it and stop the fun that would be had with the adults. We made our wedding 18 and older. We have a flower girl and a ring bearer that will leave RIGHT after the first dance.
However, IF you do have kids, my FSIL did something VERY cute. She brought a BIG piece of paper that she used as a table cloth and crayons and markers at the kids tables. They got to draw and there were coloring books there too and dolls and toy cars. The kids were kept quiet and you really didn't neve notice they were there.

i want children at my wedding. It's supposed to be a fun occasion with friends and family so can't imagine not having kids there. There could be some chaos but wedding's are about celebrating a wonderful day with the people you love. I am excited to see the kids dance on the floor with us and just have fun. Ultimately its up to you and your FH. good luck!!

N-E-G-A-T-I-V-E! This has been up for debate a few times in FH's house (fyi, they are not paying or contributing, as of now, to the wedding). They feel that family friends should be able to invite their teenage children. FH & I feel very strongly that there is NO need for them to be there. The only children invited are my nephews (2 of which are in my wedding party) and my niece (also in the wedding).

We are having them. I can't imagine not inviting them to the wedding. I think it depends on the children. If you know that they might be too active then I wouldn't invite.
The children i'm inviting will be fine at the wedding, including the ceremony.

Re: To Have Children or Not To Have Children........
I had a TON of children at my wedding and honestly, I didnt see ONE of them during the reception. Even my own! My entire family has children so I didnt want to ask everyone not to bring them, nobody would have showed.
I think it all depends on what your plans are, where your having and it and all that. If you feel it would make your day easier for you, then do it! If you dont care and doubt you'll even know they are there, I would invite them too!
