I want to add the seafood boat to our Cocktail Hour. FH says its a waste when we have so much other stuff at it. I disagree.

What do you girls think??

I voted Hell Yeah because a friend told me she had added seafood and sushi and her guests raved about how awesome it was and they usually don't see those at CH's.

However, I am a realist and $2000 is a lot of money if only a few will take advantage.

I voted nope b/c as much as I wanted this myself as well my FH talked me out of it!! He said the same thing it is a waste of $!! And we all know there is always so much food during cocktail hour!! You really don't need it, especially if you will be cutting it close $ wise to add it on!! Save your $ and put it towards your HM or something else!! JMO

I am a huge seafood person! I love it and wanted it to, but it's too much $...I wish I could do it If you can afford it do it! People will go crazy over it!

i love it but we chose not to and instead during our cocktail chose some seafood both cold and hot...its def a great idea if ya want it though

It depends on your crowd- if they expect seafood. My family and FH family would kill us if we didn't add the seafood. We splurged on the seafood, but cut down on other areas.

Honestly, you probably don't need it. We didn't add any extras to our CH and there was more than enough!

agreed unless of course you have a huge amount of guests that are seafood lovers

ugh this is something i really really wanted - especially bc our wedding is in december and you know italians and their seafood around the holidays BUT it would have cost us another 3K just for seafood.....my FSIL got married at JT and got seafood thrown in for free the night of the wedding - so we are hoping that happens to us too (we have a connection there kind of so im hoping we end up with a little something)

if i knew my guests were going to eat 3K worth of seafood i would get it - but there is no way in hell that 3k worth of seafood is going to get eaten so to me it wasnt worth the money....

I love seafood, but we skipped on it.

It was SO much more money, it was not worth it for us at all.

Its up to you, but I just think its so overpriced. $2k is Good luck!

So, we weren't going to have the raw bar/seafood boat because it was $$$$ and we just couldn't justify the cost. We did have plenty of other food as well. But when we sat down to do our final menu we just decided, screw it, we want it we're going to get it....we had some extra cash and we added it. Boy am I glad we did. There was a crowd around the raw bar the entire CH, people loved it! It helps that my RH puts on in an incredible display, like no seafood boat I've ever seen, so I think that was part of the draw, but either way, it was WELL worth the money we spent on it, our guests really really enjoyed it and that made us so happy in the end.
