I need opionons and advice, i'm not sure if i should already include hotel information with the STD or if i should wait for the invites? I was not going to but then i realized a lot of my friends did. Do you think my guest would book the hotel a year out or wait to the last min? I'm not sure if it matters or not, i will be sending out the STD about a year in advance which is early and i'm sure my invites will go out around 6 to 5 months before our wedding date. I believe our wedding is about 2 weeks before easter also. We have about 25% of family from out of state. Thanks for any help and advice.

hmmmmm..... are your OOT computer savay? only asking because you can put a website on the std. which will allow guest to see all info.

I don't think it's necessary to put on the STD. I don't plan to. Do you have a website set up? If anything I plan to put my web address on the STD and then guests can look up the info there.

I would include it with the STD's. Your invites will probably be mailed out 2 months before the wedding. The hotel probably wants reservations 1-2 months before the wedding.
The early birds will def call now to book their hotels. It's never too early to send out the info!!!
We included the hotel cards w/ the STD's and guests were very appreciative.....especially those who were flying in and wants to get their plans confirmed way ahead of time. (I saw that other people included the info on their website----if u have older guests, they may not be web-savy and realistically most guests will NEVER check the wedding site!)

I also would say to definitely include it; some hotels have a deadline by which guests need to book by to get the discount rate (mine was one month b/f the wedding) so the earlier they get the info the better. Otherwise they may not get the discount rate or it may be booked up. Good luck!

I don't know anyone who booked a hotel a year in advance, but you could include hotel info if you wanted.
Our STDs were mailed 10 months in advance and included the date and our website URL. The website had all the hotel and gift registry info on it.
We mailed invites to OOT people (those having to fly in for the wedding) about 2-3 weeks before sending them to everyone else so they have an opportunity to book hotel rooms before anyone else.

We didn't include the hotel info on the STD, but we are including an accommodation card with our invites. Most people are booking rooms by word of mouth, though.... I've encouraged OOT to book them sooner than later.

I sent my STDs in late January/early February. I included the card the hotel gave me only in the OOT STDs for people coming from other states. This way those traveling from far away are able to make reservations and travel plans as they need to. Plus they can call the hotel for the rate now and figure out their expenses so they have time to work it into their budgets.
I know I'll have some people who aren't OOT but will not want to drive home that night and will want to make a reservation to stay at the hotel so I plan to include a nicely printed accomodations card in all of the invites.

I just had cards printed to include with my STD. I figure it wont hurt. We have lots of OT. I also included our website which as lots more details.

We sent out our STDs a year in advance and we included the hotel information. A bunch of people booked rooms already and some have yet to do so. I think its a good thing to include if you can. It gives people a chance to make their plans in advance.

Initially I didn't include it, but am now kicking myself and wish that I had teh attachment cards printed with it on the back, because SO many of our guests are OOT. I'm trying to wrangle my sister/MOH to print some extra cards for me so I can send them this weekend/early next week, but as many of you I'm sure are aware, it's nearly impossible to nail down a flightly 20 year old art student

Hotel info goes in your invite, not your STD. I included my hotel info on our wedding website, and then put the website on our STD. But nobody has booked the hotel yet. It's too far out. The reason you hold the room blocks is so that people can book the rooms when it's closer to your wedding...ie, when you send out your invites.
