What are you guys planning on calling your FMIL/FFIL? My sister in law calls my parents Maria and Bruce, but FH totally wants to do the Mom/Dad thing.

deff a little bit touchy ... they would love me to call them mom and dad and I probably will, its just weird to call someone else mom and dad, especially when my dad is no longer living ... very weird for me to call someone else 'dad' now that I dont have my own anymore

I called them Mr. & Mrs. until we got engaged. When we got engaged, they told me to call them by their first names, or Mom and Dad. They're already signing cards 'Mom and Dad'. My parents want FH to call them Mom and Dad too. I just can't do it yet. I still feel funny calling them by their first names.

sorry to crash, but we both call each other's parents mom and dad now. Both of our parents insisted on it.

In fact one time my dad was explaining something to DH and said, 'Mrs. G blah blah blah'...and my mom stopped him and said, 'uh, he calls me mom now, I am mom.' lol.

Italian familes really call all moms and dads 'mom' and 'dad'...I don't have one Italian friend who's in-laws call them by their first names....

Right now I call his parents by their first names.....when I write a card to them though I write 'Mom and Dad' if it's from me and FH.

I call both this grandmothers 'Grandma' and both his grandfathers 'Granpa'.

When we get married I will call his parents mom and dad.....I never thought about any other way.

it really is a touchy one.

my SIL calls my mom 'anne' and my mom wishes she would call her 'mom'!! but SIL says she only has one mother.

i call my FMIL 'mommy' and my FFIL 'daddy'. i would call them mom and dad but b/c they are not my actual parents i feel more comfortable making it cutesy and silly. otherwise i don't think i'd be able to call them mom and dad.

it's preferance and what everyone is comfortable with.

HMMM. . .my sister calls her in-laws mom and dad. I don't think I feel comfortable doing that. I actually met my FMIL before my FH so I call her by her first name. As for my FFIL I still call him Mr. _____. I don't know what we will do once we are married.

I've been caling them by their 1st names for so long, I'm not going to start calling them something else, JMHO. FH will continue to call my parents by their 1st names too.

Back when we were just friends i used to call her mom all the time joking around... but now i cant imagine calling her that. She's evil. I'm thinking Malificent might be the best name for her.

I want my FH to call my parents mom and dad, i think they'd love it. but he calls them Mr. and Mrs. or he refers to them directly.

My FMIL would love for me to call her Mom,,,but I haven't gotten to that stage yet, I think after the wedding I will. But at least I call her by her first name, I know his bro's fiance still calls her Mrs___and they've been engaged longer that we have!

Well I have called my FFIL Dad for 3 years already so that will stick. But FH's mom is called by her first name by everyone... including FH so I will call her by her first name as I have always

I'm pretty sure mom and dad They are very warm people and refer to each other as mom or dad when speaking about the other to me. I don't think it will be wierd...
