To myself and others (10 days left!)
I have been so up & down, mainly starting this past week. I have been hanging in the balance between wishing time could stand still so I could take every single moment in and on the flip side, wishing the 17th was here or over. Either way, I realized I can`t expect to feel any specific way considering this is a place in my life I have never been in before. What I am feeling is completely normal and this is my life, not a stop along the way to my life. The wedding day, marrying the man I love is a great big wonderful thing followed by a big party but the real core truth is it is just an extension of what our lives are about already and will continue to be once the fanfare and hoopla dies down. I have found myself smiling less the past few days and even getting annoyed at my sweet and wonderful fiance. So I have vowed to go forward with a smile on, constantly bringing myself back to the one true fact that overrides every fear I have: that God is in my life today, providing all I need and giving me these blessings. I just needed to say this mainly for myself but possibly someone will get something out of it. Best wishes to all!

Elizabeth It seems like what you are feeling and going through is completely normal-- you have spent so much time and energy planning for this one day and it is drawing near-- you seem like you are in a good place--realizing your feelings--- I hope that I am as sane as you are next month;-) Just remember that once the day comes you have to trust in the fact that things will go the way they are supposed to -- My FSIL just went to a wedding where the bride was obviously tense the entire day over all the little details--and it was visible-- so just enjoy each day and you will do fine Any last things you want me to check at the cottage on sat? Agreed. My MOH said the same thing about the day of the wedding. She said there is nothing you should be handling or worrying about, at that point you just let all the worries go and it will be what it is. Find out if they have enough salt to put down if it snows again :o) (Just kidding, I`m sure they do!) Enjoy the food tasting. Is it just you & your fi going? Do you have a cake design in mind?

Best wishes for a great day! Everything will turn out great! The day goes by so quickly that there isn't enough time for the little things to bother you! Enjoy the day!

You're so right!
A good friend of mine said the wedding is just one day but the marriage is forever. I know that at my shower, only twice (and they were quick moments) did I realize I was at my bridal shower. I was so overwhelmed by everything. So, I want to make a point of being fully present the day of the wedding and just take it all in. So, thanks for reminding me, Elizabeth. I wish you and your future husband a days filled with love, laughter and memories which will last forever! LisaMaye

Impressed with their book - no. Did I pick a cake from there - yes. I thought some of the cakes were pretty but you`d think they`d: 1) Have a copy of the pictures of the cakes on hand at the Cottage 2) have a nicer book than that dirty, smudged yellowing photo album that was falling apart...but then I figured 'whatever', as long as I find something I like. I have had stuff from their bakery before and they are good so I am not worried about it being good but I agree that a tasting would be nice. We picked vanilla cake with the chocolate mousse filling.
