To photo booth, or not to photo booth?

To photo booth, or not to photo booth?

I know this has been asked a thousand times, but I just cant decide whether or not I should add a photo booth. I'm afraid that I am going to take away from other aspects of my wedding by adding it, and I would really hate for so many people to leave the dance floor and go stand on a line to get their picture taken
But then part of says that its an awesome add-on, and perfect for the guests who arent dancers or party people and will give them something to have fun with.

Ugh. Any and all advice appreciated!

This is one think I regret not doing for my wedding. I think it's fun and who doesn't love to take crazy pictures.

IMO. get it!

hey melissa!!!

this is how i felt about the cigar roller, but then i bit the bullet anyway and did it

what about doing it during the CH or during your dessert hour if you're doing a VH? IMO it shouldnt be the whole night.

my concern really was more like at the last wedding i went to there was a line like 10 people long waiting to get into it. if i did a photobooth, i'd get like 3 of them which is why i vetoed the idea and did the cigar roller instead

GET IT! DH was so happy i made him do it. Some of my favorite pics from the night is from the photobooth. And i noticed people didn't go and wait unless there was only 1 or 2 other people in line.

I used magnolia photobooths. I loved the quality and the hard cover scrapbook was so nice!

for me, i vote no...while i think they are a fun 'extra' i have a different vision for my wedding...i want everyone on the dance floor all night! lol we want as little distractions as possible...we are only having the cigars available for a short time towards the end because we don't want people being drawn outside s it's not just the photobooth.

i was on the fence for a while especially when seeing how many people on liw use them it's almost expected at this point but FH and my parents were 100% against it and reminded me of my initial thoughts of it being more for a sweet 16 or a bar/bat mitzvah than for a wedding. but then again to each his own. i think you and FH essentially need to decide what suits your vision and if it compliments the rest of your wedding elements.

even though we are not having one, don't get me wrong I love a good photobooth

I agree with leighlo1226
At this point, it is expected. 3 or 4 years ago it was a a new, fun idea and now everyone's sort of beaten it to death.

I completely agree. I think they are a fun extra, and I think your decision as to whether or not to include one is totally personal. For us, it just wasn't something that was a priority.

Agree. We had the money for it, but honestly I really don't like them. I've been to weddings with them but it took people away from dancing and dinner. But its a personal choice. I absolutely do not regeret NOT having one at all.

Not everyone likes to dance.
Some people don't enjoy that.
Having other fun entertaining things are great if you can fit it in your budget. Otherwise, it's nice if the venue has grounds that people can walk around during the dancing if they are not into it.

Melissa, you know your guests so if you think they're going to be lining up out the door for photos instead of dancing (like my guinea family would be), then i'd say nix the idea

i would def say to get it! I wish we had one...we got our pro pics back AND our zap shots from the DJ and we still dont have photos of all our guests. i think its a great memory to have and also a lot of fun!
we have been to a few weddings that have them and they havent taken away from the affair at all.

If you decide against a photo booth, i saw another girl on here posted that she did a guestbook but also had a polaroid camera for the guests to attach photos to the book...thats another great idea i wish i thought of just so you can have a real memory of all your guests.

I say DEFINITELY get one! We had one and everyone loved it. We also had the dance floor packed the whole night. It didn't interfere at all. The photobooth was black and in the corner so it wasn't an eyesore either. I would 100% get it again. My friends who thought they wouldn't like it are now getting one for their wedding after seeing it at my wedding.

THIS!

Our guests have not stopped talking about our partybooth and we keep looking at the scrapbook with all of the pics and crazy comments. It was literally 1 of our favorite things about our wedding.

Re: To photo booth, or not to photo booth?

i am biased as some of you may know, but obvi i say to get it!

i def do not think it is expected or a common thing for weddings, yes in the LIW world it seems that way but outside of here, people know nothing about it...all of my guests were like o m g i love the photobooth idea and some people had never even heard of the idea...older people loved it!!! they loved the props and took more pics than the young people! i have tons of pics from my photographer of people in the booth and showing off their props

i rarely had a line and if i did it was like 2 or 3 people waiting, it didnt take away from the party/dancing at all

like others said there are ppl who dont dance who will enjoy having another form of entertainment...you also will get tons of pics of your guests that you wouldnt otherwise have

and mine was in the corner by the dj, not in the way or an eye sore at all!
