I personally have never been a fan of the sweetheart table. It was both mine and FH's thinking that we would sit with select members of our wedding party- our closest friends at the wedding..
But then a friend said- you'll never be sitting, and it is easier to have your own table.. I so see the logic in that..
BUT-- I just like the idea of sitting with everyone.. we'll have two weeks alone together on our honeymoon- the reception is about a party, right?
THoughts???

Wait...we had a table at our wedding????
I hear ya.
I honestly would not remember what it looked like if there were no pics of it
you gals are too funny. And I only got married less than 4 weeks ago and already I feel the exact same way!! Thank goodness for pics! DH and I probably only sat at the table for our toast, and a few bites of dinner. and that was it!! We were on the dance floor and mingling the other 4 hours!
But still , I am so very glad we did the sweetheart table .. it was great. Having those few moments to be in our own little world and just whisper and chat to ourselves about how much of a blast we were having was SO worth it

I am going through this same thing right now. We didn't want one, but now as we are contemplating the seating chart, I am leaning towards it. We have a small bridal part. , just 4. 7 with dates. so that would make us 9, which i guess would be a tables, but then I have a brother & 2 cousins that are the brotehrs of teh bms so I didn't know where to put them.We may have jsut 1 giant 12 person table, but I don't knwo if that's too much. And then we'd be leaving out other younger cousins that we aren't as close to, but still it seems rude.
I don't know what to do either.

FH and I will have a table of our own...however....there will be 2 tables next to us...one to each side of us that is designated just for the bridal party and their guests.
we are planning on doing the same thing becasue as randella said I don't like being the center of attention..so we thought this would be the best way

We are going with a sweetheart table, I think it's nice to have one place where we can be alone together and watch the party, even if it's only for a few minutes.

Hi. I don't see anything wrong with that. I am doing a sweetheart table, but a good friend of mine sat at a round table with her bridal party. It was totally fine and you should do what's going to make you happiest that day.

I dont want to 'offend' anyone by not sitting with them, so sweetheart table it is. And trust me when I say his family will have a problem.

We had a sweetheart table. I didn't want to have our bridal party at a dais because then their guests would be stuck sitting without them. Also, I wanted to give my bridal party the opportunity to sit with their other friends, so I didn't even have the whole bridal party sitting together. I enjoyed having the table to ourselves - it was nice for the few minutes we actually sat!

We're not having one...and we're also letting our guests sit wherever they want.

Do whatever makes you happy! It's your DAY remember!!!
I've been to weddings where the bride and groom sat with their wedding party and I see no problem with it.

Wanted to sit with my parents and DH parents but it didn't work out that way.
I really wanted to do this - I think it's such a nice idea to have dinner with your parents on your wedding day. But DH's parents are divorced and his dad is remarried, so it didn't work out for us either.
We only had an MOH and BM, so we had a table of 6 - Me & DH, MOH and her husband and BM and his wife. You might want to consider doing that and putting the rest of your BP at other tables. It was nice.
