To Tan or Not to Tan?

To Tan or Not to Tan?

How do you plan to get a nice tanned look on your wedding day? I do not want to look too tan next to FH. (he doesn't plan on doing any tanning unless we go to the caribbean before our wedding)

A friend of mine was so done up that she was a stark contrast especially in pictures...i.e. unnatural. Does your FH plan on tanning if you are not getting married in the summer months?

I might do the spray on tan, we'll have to see. I tried the one that comes in the lotions, and it actually works pretty well. I don't think that FH will tan, we both burn to crisps in the sun, and I don't see him spraying or putting anything on his body.

Probably I will just use a tinted moisturizer. I don't want anything heavy on my skin as I am getting married in the summer. But, I burn easily and hate the sun, so I won't be getting a natural tan.

I'm gonna hit the tanning booth for a couple weeks leading up to the day. Maybe twice each weeek. I need to tan a little because FH tans so easily. He could probably tan during a blizzard.

I'm probably gonna get a lil tan but not too dark. Maybe hit the tanning salon a week or 2 b4 the wedding

Well...I definitely want to have some color.
Right now I am trying that jergens lotion that has been a big hit on the NWR board. I will see how that works. I also may get some sun or hit the tanning salon for a few sessions.

I usually tan in the summer time because I have outbreaks of psoriasis in the summer that disappear when I tan. Though now that I think about it, I would look ridiculous with a dark tan in the middle of the winter when everyone knows full well I have not been anywhere before my wedding and honeymoon. I highly doubt I will tan for my wedding. I always laugh at those mall chicks who have deep tans in the winter time - I don't want to be one of them.

I'll be using a bronzer. Skin cancer runs in FH's family and so he'd have a heart attack if I went tanning, not to mention I've never been and I don't know if I want my first time to be before my wedding!

Tanning salon - none of that spray on - bring on the UV rays!

I'm afraid to tan and then have my make up will look wierd or the contrast with my dress. Maybe I will feel different as we get closer to the date

Last September I started going to the tanning salon (in additon to the summer tan I already had) so that I could see how it would look for the photographs. We took our e-pics on the one year mark. I had my makeup done with the tan so I could see how that looked as well. Best thing I could have done because all fears were calmed and FH decided to tan as well this year for the wedding.

I agree...see if you can get FH on board with this.

Does anyone have any tanning advice? I'm very pale, and most of the rest of the bridal party actually benefits from the Italian genes, so I would like to do a bit of tanning. I may go try it out next week as a test run...what do I wear/bring?

I will be going to the tanning salon maybe twice...I need to have some type of color plus going on my HM in Aruba, I don't want to burn the first day down there...

FH has said he will go tanning with me too...If I am too tan & he isn't, he looks green next to me

No tan for me. I'm a winter bride and it wouldn't look right, IMO.

Where did you find the Jergens tanning stuff? I have looked EVERYWHERE for it, and I live in NYC! It is really annoying me that I can't find it, because I have heard great things :)

I'm an all natural kinda girl, I don't do the salons. Altho every summer I have to burn 1st, then I tan a lil and that's it for the rest of the year. Just be careful of how much you tan cause that white dress might make you look TOO dark.
