How do you plan to get a nice tanned look on your wedding day? I do not want to look too tan next to FH. (he doesn't plan on doing any tanning unless we go to the caribbean before our wedding)
A friend of mine was so done up that she was a stark contrast especially in pictures...i.e. unnatural. Does your FH plan on tanning if you are not getting married in the summer months?

Re: To Tan or Not to Tan?
FH is naturally a few shades darker than me...I am ridiculously pale and he tans verily easily when he runs....
I will be getting the spray tan. Eogara, a recent '05 bride did the spray tan thing and she looks gorgeous...
with all of these new improvements in 'fake' tanning, I wouldn't risk skin cancer or even wrinkles by laying out or a tanning bed..

Does anyone have any tanning advice? I'm very pale, and most of the rest of the bridal party actually benefits from the Italian genes, so I would like to do a bit of tanning. I may go try it out next week as a test run...what do I wear/bring?
Goldi's tanning advice:
Go to a stand up booth versus a bed. It is more sanitary because you aren't lying on something that someone else was on. Contrary to what they say, they NEVER clean the beds as well as they should. You get a well rounded tan when you do a stand up.
Do it in stages. No one says you have to go in the highest booth for 20 minutes. It took me one month to build up to a decent level. I would start at maybe 5 minutes 3 times a week, then 6 minutes, then 7 minutes until I felt comfy. Also if you tend to be fair complected, dont go in nude. I start with a one piece, then a bikini during the next phase and then semi nude. I find myself counting to 60 many times so I know how many minutes I have to avoid burning my boobs or butt.
Get a booth that will filter out more of the harmful rays. Ask the sales people the differences between the different booths they have. The customer has a right to know.
Get a good bronzer for your body and a specialized lotion for your legs. The legs do not tan as rapidly as the rest of the body (at least in my experience. Ask the salesperson at the tanning place you go to. I used Hollywood Tans and did very well.
I hope this helps.

My FH has tanned skin already...and i am semi tanned looking..but since wedding is in summer I will have a tan, if i need a boost with it i will probably do airbrush- I think the tanning booths make me look too red..we will see hopefully i wont need anything besides the sun

I am trying out Maximus Salon's airbrush tan for my friend's wedding this july. If all goes well, I'll go for my wedding.

Im naturally tan..so Im told. I dont see it. So for me...I have been a tanner. I like the fake bake! I will probably use that as my source for an April wedding but may tone it down a bit since it dosent look too good in pictures to be 'too' dark.

I've done airbrushing and I liked the results (colored) I want to try the colorless airbrushing. I may do a trial soon. FH is going to the Bahamas for the Bachelor party.

Re: To Tan or Not to Tan?
Iam getting marred in October, so I am hoping to maintain my tan from the summer. But I am sure I will lighten up a bit. I dont want to look like I faked and baked
