I am totally against tanning -- not worth the damage, the potential wrinkles, the cancer. PLUS -- since this is so short term, what if you mess up and actually get a burn and peel? Not the look you want for your wedding day. There is nothing worse than an orange-skinned bride in a white dress!

Yes I would say tanning salon... You want a lotion that is an accelerator. This will help you tan and not burn. You want to go every other day, this way it gives time for the tan to develop and then you go again and get darker...
And ask about different level beds and stuff so you can upgrade the bed and use stronger ones to get more color...
ETA: You cant get orange for going a few times before the wedding. Girls tend to get orange when they OVERDO it... Like tanning practically every day or every other day for MONTHS or even years... AND you cant get burnt unless your not telling the staff that you burn easily and need to start slow...

Re: to tan or not to tan...
I would go no more than twice this week. Make sure you're in a BRONZING bed (they're usually a bit pricier, but worth it).
How cloudy is it out by you? I live on the beach in Queens and its really sunny here. You may be able to get some sun today.
PS-keep in mind that tanning beds seriously dehydrate your skin, therefore potentially making your foundation look a bit texture-ey. SO if you DO go in a bed, drink a ton more water than you normally do, and SLATHER yourself in moisturizer afterwards.

Honestly Lauren at this point she's right. First, get outside today!! It's really sunny, even if you just lay out in a backyard you will get some color. Then on Weds or Thursday or depending on your RD and schedule I guess, get an airbrush tan at Beach Bum. They rock!!! Esp if Col has a coupon!! But I would highly highly stress making the drive to the Plainview location for Melissa or Ilana who are both awesome. I can also give you a load of specific pointers in FM. You won't get as tan as you think frying in a bed for a week before your wedding. You will damage. I promise you, it's not worth it. I did the bed for a month before and I wasn't as tan as I wanted to be, and there was damage. I'm so excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lauren, I thought you looked good on Friday. You didnt photograph pale at all. I'd be afraid at this point that you might burn and then you'd be super pissed.

Re: to tan or not to tan...
I definitely would not do a tanning salon, but I'm generally super against them, and I'm predisposed to burning, badly.
It's REALLY nice out where I am right now, so just sit outside! Worst case scenario...I definitely recommend the Jergen's Natural Glow daily moisturizer...it's that gradual color building one, not an actual fake tanning lotion. This particular one doesn't have that gross smell some tanning lotions and spray tans have, and it gives you a nice, natural color, not orangey or streaky. I swear by it as a little ghost myself.

Re: to tan or not to tan...
Do the spray tan. I got really burned one time while at the beach. I got so burned i couldn't walk for an entire week without looking like a cowboy and i had to stay in shorts all the time just laying in bed. It was the most horrible pain ever. I'm a ghost myself and i plan on doing the spray tan or getting the Jergens lotion the one Ali recommended.

I swear by airbrush tanning. It looks amazing and really natural. I also swear by regular tanning, but the girls are right ... you are too close to your wedding and if you peel or get burnt... bad deal. Airbrush all the way!

I am feeling the same way you are. If you have to go tanning I would go tomorrow and Tuesday. But honestly I would be scared to do a spray tan, I know they say it is n't suppose to come off but all i would worry about is once you are dancing and sweating and it coming off on your dress,. So I vote for doing anything EXCEPT spray tanning for your wedding!

Re: to tan or not to tan...
To answer this question I'd have to know your skin.
I'm not a huge tanner but I do go for certain events and I always get red the first 2 times. After that I get really bronzey tan but the first two times are no dice...soooo are you predisposed to burn or tan?
