Re: to tan or not to tan that is the question
Ok, I've been going for real tanning for the first time in my life - in fact, bed tan 3 times the past week. Here are my thoughts - I am fair to medium skin tone. Meaning, if I wear sunscreen I tend to get nice color end of summer. If I don't wear sunscreen I burn. I have been doing a tanning bed gradually and LOVE how I look - gradual tan - no burn.
I have also done the spray tan before and been happy with how it looked but it always stained my clothes. I do NOT want spray tan on my dress so I am going to go against my Mother's wishes and keep tanning til the big day.

Since you only have a week I say go for the spray tan. When you did it was it like the booth spray they have at the tanning salon or was it airbrushed by a person?
I ask because I had airbrush done for our engagement party and I LOVED the way I looked. I also have freckles and I didn't think they were covered at all. I also wore a partly white dress and it wasn't stained at all. If we weren't going somewhere tropical for our HM I would have done it for the wedding too but I don't want to risk burning so I've been slowly tanning.
Anyway, FM if you'd like the info for where I went. I highly recommend them!

I would do the airbrush spray tan. I love the results of that.

I did it by a person at Sundara in the city. . it looked good and natural but did stain my clothes for the first 24 hours. . after that I was okay though. .

Are you tanning already for your wedding? 4 months seems like a long time prior.

I did the Mystic Tan before our epics and I can't rave enough about it! It did come off a little on my dress (white) but the dry cleaner got it out. It lasted about 4-5 days. I went to Beach House tanning in Huntington Village and they have the 'newest' mystic booth which is supposed to be superior, no orange, minimal streaking... a little pricey at $35 for one session but I really needed color, esp on my legs.

Re: to tan or not to tan that is the question
I did the mystic tan once, and although it looked fairly natural on me, i.e. not orange, I felt like I smelled like tanning agent, even after I showered, so I probably will never do it again.
If anything, I might use the neutrogena moisturizer that builds gradual color, but probably nothing. I BURN, so a tanning bed would be a disaster. My philosophy is stay pale!
