to teachers that are permanently certified or are working on it now . . .

I have everything in place except for my video. How many times did you do your video until it was perfect? How strict is the scoring on the video- I want to start working on the video, but don't really know how to go about it . . .

is there a way to get the registration packet online?
There should be a button for the ATS-P. You'll need Acrobat Reader. You can't register online for the video.

FH is going through this right now- He was a nervous, studdering wreck when I taped his video (it was my camera, so I konw what I was doing), but we kept the time at exactly 29 minutes and 56 seconds. He recorded it during his student teaching experience and his principal made him send a note home to all parents explaining the nature of the video. Believe it or not, he actually got some 'no, I do not want my child on videdotape' responses.
You'll have no problem. Good luck!
p.s. Wear those new earrings - the sparkle is SURE to distract the viewers!!!

I had a guy from my graduate program at Lehman also tape me. He was great held up signs and all. I hand picked the kids I wanted in it, practiced with them twice and bribed them with pizza. It was very easy. I also heard a rumor that someone sent in a blank tape and passed.

I honestly don't think thye watch them all either. In the directions it said not to have the date/time on the screen displayed. Well I borrowed my friends brand new camera and couldn't figure out how to get the date off so it stayed on throughout and I still passed.
But I heard from a friend that a co-worker of hers only had 1 copy and sent it in. One day after while cleaning out her desk she found a video and popped it in and was HORRIFIED to find her 1 and only copy that she thought she had sent in. So after making many calls to the NYS ED DEPT and leaving many unaswered messages. She soon after got a congratulations you have passed letter. EVERYONE WAS SHOCKED!!!! Then someone else told me they heard that they only watch it if your are getting a U rating and need it as backup to prove one's teaching abilites. TRUE STORY !
