Re: To TIP or not to Tip...
My family has been in the hair business for years.
You do not tip owners, they receive all the money they make. If you like them, the best thing you can do is recommend them.
I didn't tip my photographer, the day of the eshoot but he will receive a bigger tip the day of.
Also, if they are the owner of the photography business, you don't tip them either.
Best bet if your not sure who to tip and how much, ask your RH. We sat down and talked with our BM about all the tips and they gave us guidlines to follow.
Florist delivery and set up team yes, (owner no) $20 each Photographers and assistants yes (owner no) $50 - $100 each

I'm also following the rule that if theyre the owner, working for themselves, then they don't get a tip.

Re: To TIP or not to Tip...
i didn't tip for either. epics are part of our package that we're paying for and the photog is the owner. we will tip them on the day of.
make up trial - shes the owner - and i wrote her a $150 check for the trial and to hold the date. i didn't think it was necessary to tip if they're the owner.

I don't think it's necessary to tip for a hair/makeup trial - regardless if they're the owner or not.

Re: To TIP or not to Tip...
I tipped for majority of my hair/makeup trials. I'm still on the fence for my epics once we do them, since the photog is the owner.

I didn't tip for my e-pics.
I did tip for my hair and make up trials and on the day of my wedding also, even thought she was the owner because I thought she did a wonderful job.

Re: To TIP or not to Tip...
I didn't tip for hair or makeup trials... bc they were getting all of it
epics we tipped $50, only because our photog traveled all the way out to the north fork where I really wanted to take our pics, probably an hour-hour and a half drive for him, AND it was his day off but we were visiting from upstate so we had to do it on a monday.

Re: To TIP or not to Tip...
I tipped for both.
We gave our photog $60 for the epics. He extended our session beyond their normal hours, and wanted to keep going ... we had to tell him we'd had enough!
I tipped for EVERY makeup and hair trial I've had (and I've had a lot) except for ONE because she did an absolutely awful job and it killed me to even pay her $100 to make me look like a deranged pageant queen.
