to TTC or not to TTC- this is my delema! Opinions PLEASE!

Ok- I and DH are so ready to TTC this/next month but now I don't know what to do.

My MIL/FIL are paying and have bboked a cruise to alaska in July for us and are VERY excited to be going on a family vacation with us. My MIL brought it up last night at dinner about how excited she is and that this is making her year!

DH and I wanted to start TTC this month but I am worried how I might feel if I am preggo on the trip and so far away from home. I don't want to tell anyone- except you ladies that we are ready to TTC. I know my mom would be watching EVERYTHING I do and be up my arse and a pain in the arse that TTC would be very stressful fo rme and DH. If I tell my MIL and my mom finds out that she knew we were TTC before she does she will be so unhappy.

I know we may not get preggo right away and this is why I want to TTC now- I am going to be 32 this year and don't want to wait anylonger. We already postponed TTC because of my job/finances and now are in a good spot to. I am also scared that it may take us a long time to concieve that I don't want to wait.

What would you do? Any advice on traveling while preggo?

HOnestly I would not put my TTC on hold again. You have to do what is right for you. I am sure that your MIL is looking forward to the trip but a lifetime with a Grandchild is much more fun IMO. What does your DH say? I don't know if I would want to be on a cruise at 5-6 months pregnant, I know people have done it but I don't know if I would. Hope that helps.

One thing to think about is if you do get pregnant on the first try, you have to think how far along you might be in the pregnancy. Most cruise lines have a restriction about pregnant women cruisng. I know I had a client going on Norwegian and she had to be less than 24 weeks pregnant. Royal Caribbean will let you travel up until your 3rd trimester (27 weeks). Princess is less than 28 weeks by the end of your vacation.

If you know the cruise line, I an find out for you what the restriction is....

ETA: I am not saying you should wait to TTC, becasue it may not happen the first time and then you would not have to worry about pregnancy restrictions with the cruise line.

In my opinion, if you truly want a baby and feel ready than you should go for it. I feel a child is more important than a cruise. It may take you a few months to get PG, which may not affect your trip. However, if you do get PG right away then maybe you need to plan a different type of trip. A grandchild will outweigh a cruise any day! Do what is in your heart. Good Luck!
