I am getting restless knowing we plan on not taking a vacation until our honeymoon.. and that will probably be a month or two after the wedding.. so almost 2 years before another vacations ..
SO this is what i was thinking...
FH is graduating in June---- I would get him a gift FH's Bday is in June--- Another Gift My Bday-Sept-- He gets me a gift..
I was thinking if we not get eachother gifts and we go to disney instead in October.. We've been wanting to go there in October because that is when Epcot has the Food and Wine Festival. Another reason for disney is that we were going to do go to disney as a second stop on our HM.. so if we go in October or during the HM.. money will be spent either way..
Should we go.. or not and save the money
FH was open to the idea.

I would go if you want to. You can probably get a good package for disney. We weren't planning on taking a vacation this year either and just waiting untill the HM. But now we were thinking of going for 1 week to visit one of my BM in South carolina and maybe a small 4 day trip somewhere else. I mean if your not getting gifts and just using th emoney for the vacation it should be good. I would go fot it!!

Yes i think it would be good to get the trip instead of buying eachother gifts...Its a much better gift for the both of you and its good to get away and relax, with all that is going on both of you can use it.
I know its hard though...Thats exactly what FH and i are deciding now...We are getting our tax returns and wondered if we should use it for a trip or put more towards RH, we are going this week to give our RH money we got from our e-party but dont know if we should add even more to it or do a trip...Then its where would we go, don't want to go all out and spend too much. But its definitely needed.
Do research and try and see what package deals you can get, or ask people for travel agents that they have used and maybe you can get a deal that way.

if you can afford it...go for it!! that sounds like TONS of fun! it depends on how much you would have spent on your gifts for each other.

I think i'll wait a couple of months and see how much we've really saved (since FH has been working). Since we are paying a big chunk of the wedding ourselves and saving for a condo or house.. i dont know if it seems foolish to waste money on a vacation.. but at the same time.. i think being it will be almost a year til our wedding it will like denise said, give us the chance to relax before it gets beyond crazy!

FH took me away last year for my bday present and it was totally worth it. I liked it much more then a new purse, earrings or a necklace...it was a great time and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!! If you can afford it, do it!!!

you can also check out cheaper options. Maybe punta cana in DR...My friend was actually telling me just yesterday she is thinking of going in OCtober and some of the prices are unbelievable...She said she wants to go just bc of how great the price is...They have some packages for 400something.

IF anywhere it would be Disney. Because we would go there now instead of during our HM.. so either way the money is being spent on disney, just depends on when.. And i am overly generous when it comes to FH's gifts.. I took him to vegas for his 21st bday and got show tickets 2 nights..Soo i think the airfare and hotel would equal how much i would spend on him regardless

YESSSSSS definitely vacay than not to vacay. Check out the Caribbean, you can get good deals, its not that far, and overall its HOTTTTTTTTTT

we werent planning on going anywhere but i know we're going to need a mini vacay or we'll go crazy. so we're just going for a few days to miami. i just wanna go to the beach and relax. i cant wait.

im dying to go back to dinsey for our 4 year anniversary and our birthdays all in 2 months.. but we just realyl cant afford it... were thinking of a cruise.. since it would be like 1000 for everything.. one of those 3 night ones since im SCARED..lol .. but i think its a great idea!

i say go for it - seriously we went to mohegan sun this month for the same reason
but we ended up spending over $2K on ONE WEEKEND ( with almost no gambling ) we could have definitely flown to Fla and stayed for 5 days with that kind of $$$ so DO IT ! lol

I was thinking that, but then we would have to either pay for a rental car or taxis to get to and from the theme parks.. so i was looking at hotels that have shuttle service
