To vacay or not to vacay??

I am getting restless knowing we plan on not taking a vacation until our honeymoon.. and that will probably be a month or two after the wedding.. so almost 2 years before another vacations ..

SO this is what i was thinking...

FH is graduating in June---- I would get him a gift
FH's Bday is in June--- Another Gift
My Bday-Sept-- He gets me a gift..

I was thinking if we not get eachother gifts and we go to disney instead in October.. We've been wanting to go there in October because that is when Epcot has the Food and Wine Festival. Another reason for disney is that we were going to do go to disney as a second stop on our HM.. so if we go in October or during the HM.. money will be spent either way..

Should we go.. or not and save the money

FH was open to the idea.

I would go If I were you. A vacay is always good, if you can swing it, do it in lieu of those gifts!

yeah i have heard of quite a few people doing that, getting a hotel right outside. Just gotta figure how much you would save and if it will still save you more than you would spend on cabs or whatever type of transportation

see if any of the girls on BHB are travel agents - ask them to FM you packages and such. You never know...

And def-def-definitely get the meal plan if it's available!

We were planning to go to Disney too (it all fell thru... ) but we were going to stay here... they offer some really great deals and they super cost effective especially if you find a great deal on a flight...

i say go for it - seriously we went to mohegan sun this month for the same reason

but we ended up spending over $2K on ONE WEEKEND ( with almost no gambling ) we could have definitely flown to Fla and stayed for 5 days with that kind of $$$ so DO IT ! lol



what did u spend so much money on?? i was thinking of going there with my girlfriends for a weekend thinking it was cheap

you should, I think that is a good idea, vacation instead of presents.. sure!!!

but it just depends on how much you want to spend. Disney can be really expensive with the cost of tickets to the parks and etc..

FH and I went 2 augusts ago, We used my parents time share and his mom bought us airfare (both our bdays are in aug so it was a birthday gift), it still ended up costing us a lot of money for food and for the parks.

i forgot to respond i was too considered y tilde spent over 2000 lol...if u plan on spending about the same amount for his presents then i would def do the vacation...u dont have to go all out and u can prob find a nice package and try to keep the costs down...how many days did u plan on going??

oh yeah you can DEFINITELY go there and not spend a lot of money - but we STINK at that! seriously. i got a super expensive facial. then we completely pigged out on room service every day and ate at the restaurants every night then every night i got drunk and ordered room service at like 2am and fell asleep before it even came. . LOL

but if you eat at the regular restaurants ( they have a diner type and a buffet that is yummy) and keep drinking to a minimum. . .and DONT TOUCH THE MINI BAR and DONT ORDER ROOM SERVICE then you should be good

plus we charged everything to the room - i had no idea how much it was until i got hte bill LOL

yeah one night i ordered two things of creme brulee, two bottles of champagne and a dozen chocolate covered strawberries i got so sick!

what hotel did u stay at?? ive never been there and me and my girls were looking to do a weekend thing not too expensive and we thought maybe there or altantic city
